It is there we often get spiritual Clarity to see the “Good,” God can bring out of the most horrendous situations, such as in the life of Joseph-{Gen 50:20} or Paul, {2 Cor 11:23-29}, or the LORD Jesus,..to the difficulties and challenges that are part and parcel of everyday life.
When we get to the place where we can say “It is good for me that I was afflicted that I may learn Your statutes,” -{Psalm 119;71}, it is because God has done and doing a work of grace in our hearts not for salvation but in sanctification changing us from the inside out… conforming us to the image of Christ, teaching us to set our affections and mind on things above so we can view life from a heavenly and eternal perspective, including suffering, afflictions, and our trials, just like the Psalmist in Psalm 119;71. He saw beyond his afflictions to see God’s purpose in producing “good” for him.
And when we come to His Word desiring to know what He says so we can “…learn HIS statutes” so as being desirous to obey Him who is good and does good-{Read Psalm 119:68}… that is “good!” For then we see things as they are from God’s perspective- and that is “good!”
