God Is Good- Do Good! -{Various Scriptues} – Reconciliation Ministries

God is Good, Does Good,

“You are good and do only good;”-( Ps 119:68). “… God works all things together for Good “- (Rom. 8:28)

It is wonderful to admire, experience, and celebrate the LORD and His Goodness, but it’s not just ADMIRATION for His Goodness … but we are called to PARTICIPATION in deeds of goodness.

Goodness is more than a “good thought,” a theory, something to “agree” about and deceive ourselves as though if we do that then that is enough, that somehow our agreeing, and saying “amen” to it would suffice. Like the two men who walked by the man beaten up laying by the side of the road in the story of the Good Samaritan, who saw the need, but ignored it, kept walking by…indifferent to the need of an injured man. They failed to express love as compared to the good samaritan whom Jesus holds up as someone who “loves his neighbor!” These other two men in the story knew the Scriptures, knew the truth but truth did not influence, or control them because they lacked love. Instead of demonstrating love to a man in need their callousness was revealed. It is not enough to know the truth… but to submit and demonstrate it is to express love by meeting the “pressing needs” of others-{Read Titus 3:14}

BUT HOW? Let us PERSONALIZE this..,

I AM…CREATED FOR GOOD WORKS;

“…we are God’s handiwork, CREATED in Christ Jesus TO DO good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”-{Eph 2:10}.

I AM TO…LEARN TO DO GOOD WORKS;

“Our people must also LEARN to ENGAGE IN GOOD DEEDS TO MEET PRESSING NEEDS so that they will not be unproductive.”-(Titus 3:14).

I AM TO BE…DEVOTED TO DOING GOOD;

“This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to DEVOTE THEMSELVES to DOING what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.”-{Titus 3:8}

As followers of the LORD Jesus, we are to be not only conscious but co-operating with God, knowing and doing His will as revealed in His Word.

LOVE IS AS SIMPLE AS MEETING A NEED.

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with ACTIONS and in truth.-{1 John 3:16-18}. Love people!

We are CREATED For Good Works… We are to Learn to ENGAGE… be DEVOTED TO GOOD WORKS…LOVE IS AS SIMPLE AS MEETING A NEED. Not To Try to Be saved but because He has saved us…

“GOOD WORKS” is an action expressed… and we are to Be a People who learn to DO GOOD, that which is beneficial to others, in alignment with God’s Word and will.

GOOD WORKS INVOLVE that which is BENEFICIAL to Others-{Gal 6:10}. LOVING- {1 John 3:16-18}- GLORIFY God -{1 Cor 10:31}. All people are CANDIDATES for you DOING Good To! Gal 6:10}

GOOD WORKS ARE – PRACTICAL;

Someone’s “pressing needs” -{Titus 3:14} is a PERSONAL OPPORTUNITY to Express a LOVING GOOD DEED… and Honor the LORD in doing so. While we can we should be daily about Doing Good!

GOOD WORKS CONTINUING DESPITE – PAIN.

“So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.”-{1 Peter 4:19}

GOOD WORKS ARE PERSONAL;

GOOD WORKS ARE- PURPOSEFUL;

“…let your light shine before others, so that they may SEE Your GOOD WORKS and GIVE GLORY TO YOUR FATHER who is in heaven.”-(Matt 5:16).

The LORD Is GOOD
The LORD DOES GOOD
The LORD WORKS All things together for GOOD
YOU DO GOOD = We are to LEARN TO ENGAGE IN GOOD WORKS!
Good works GLORIFY your Father in Heaven.

BE GOOD- DO GOOD!
