- -THROUGH RECOGNITION OF WHO HE IS;
”Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!”-{Psalm 95:6}…
- -THROUGH SUBMISSION IN APPRECIATION;
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect…” –{Romans 12:1-3}.. The Passage gives the MOTIVATION for “worship,” namely “THE MERCIES OF GOD.” The MANNER of doing so? “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice” which means to give all of yourself, all your faculties, heart, mind, strength, thoughts, everything that makes you, you,is to be handed over to God for God. Just as an actual sacrifice was offered in totality on the alter ,so you turn yourself over for Him as an act of worship. But how?
“Again, the pa ssage is clear: “by the renewing of your mind.” We renew our minds daily by cleansing them of the world’s “wisdom” and replacing it with true wisdom that comes from God. We worship Him with our renewed and cleansed minds, not with our emotions. Emotions are wonderful things, but unless they are shaped by a mind saturated in Truth, they can be destructive, out-of-control forces. Where the mind goes, the will follows, and so do the emotions. First Corinthians 2:16 tells us we have “the mind of Christ,” not the emotions of Christ.
There is only one way to renew our minds, and that is by the Word of God. It is the truth, the knowledge of the Word of God, which is to say the knowledge of the mercies of God, and we’re back where we began. To know the truth, to believe the truth, to hold convictions about the truth, and to love the truth will naturally result in true spiritual worship. It is conviction followed by affection, affection that is a response to truth, not to any external stimuli, including music. Music as such has nothing to do with worship. Music can’t produce worship, although it certainly can produce emotion. Music is not the origin of worship, but it can be the expression of it. Do not look to music to induce your worship; look to music as simply an expression of that which is induced by a heart that is rapt by the mercies of God, obedient to His commands.”-{gotquestions.com}
3.-THROUGH FAITH IN HIM FOR TRUE SALVATION;
“Watch out for those dogs, those people who do evil, those mutilators who say you must be circumcised to be saved. For we who worship by the Spirit of God[b] are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. “-{Phil3:2-4}.
- –THE FATHER SEEKS SUCH WORSHIPERS.-
“But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. “-{John 4:23}.
True worship is not left up to us to determine what is acceptable by God. Those who built the golden calf said this was the God who delivered them from Egypt and through the Red Sea, but it wasn’t. It was one they made up in their own minds and worshipped… in vain, dishonoring the LORD. We do the same thing when we seek to “worship” God what we think is worship
True Worship, includes true salvation, submission to God, recognizing He has mas made us. He is to be worshipped because He is Creator! True worship includes the giving of ourselves out of appreciation to Him. True worship includes Trusting Him due to what He has done for us- saving us! True worship is defined by Him and Jesus tells us who and what the Father seeks , those who worship Him in spirit and in truth!” The problem with those who made the golden calf? It wasn’t TRUE about who God is!. How will we know? The Scriptures reveal. As you read them LOOK FOR GOD. What does the passage verse say about Him? And take an incorporate into your worship- ascribing worth to Him in your praying and living!
