Opportunities …

(March 1 2022)

Last evening I was in a lot of discomfort from my muscle disease and the three biopsies , and having dropped off “the Little Man” our grandson, so, on the way home my wife and I stopped in a store. I was walking out of the store to get to the car to lie down due to pain I was in while she finished up shopping, when I saw a long white cushion with black writing on it, sitting across a beautifully carved long wooden seated bench for sale which read, “Enjoy The Moment.”

There was a lady about to vacuum close by it, it was near the end of her working day and about to close up. I looked at the quote and read it out aloud. At first I said “that’s good” to her, then I looked and thought out loud , and said “that’s good only if you can enjoy that moment if there are no other difficult or distressing things happening in that moment.” The lady said “it’s not much good when you are overwhelmed,”. At that I shared a verse the Holy Spirit brought to me at that moment and I shared with her, “I read a verse in the Bible and the Psalmist said “when my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the Rock that is higher thank I am”. -( Psalm 61:2). I shared that the word “overwhelmed” as used there means literally “covered in darkness.” So, I shared with her – that when our hearts are “overwhelmed,” that a nice quote of “enjoy the moment “ won’t help, it’s no good to us, we NEED GOD… to come get us out of it and lift us up to a place above it. “Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I,”- and only He can!

She listened, and in the end I departed and walked away into the night and got to the car and prayed for her. That if she did not know Him that He would convict her of sin, righteousness and judgment and save her. And if she did know Him, that He would encourage her to turn to Him trusting Him to lift her up…(I prayed the same for her again the following morning and evening. How wonderful we can meet someone even briefly and the LORD can bring them back to mind and we can…PRAY for them…)

Thankful. I made it home to bed and trying not to move due to the pain and nausea from the tests last week at the hospital that escalated my pain, but smiling by the Grace of Almoghty God enabling me to, because of His affording an unexpected opportunity…

And today dear friend May be your turn to share or pray for someone He brings across your path…in an unexpected place… and afford you an unexpected privilege to share something concerning Him… “So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but ONLY GOD, who makes things grow. “-( 1 Cor 3:7)- 🙂

God bless
