We “Bless,” – “speak well of… Praise” God at times for the “good” He has done to us and for us. Which is only right and proper but perhaps we seldom think or do so for what He has NOT Done!
The Psalmist gives us two more reasons to Bless God for and it is for what He has NOT done to him, – and we likewise can Join him as we consider what God had NOT done nor has NOT done to us namely,
1.- “Who has NOT turned away my prayer.”
2.- “NOR His loving kindness (unfailing love) from me.”-
Perhaps you can pause and Bless God for what He has NOT done … and ask Him to remind you to include it when you “Bless God!”
When God “Blesses“ us- He does good to us, when we “Bless God,” we speak well of Him, Praise Him! The Psalmist recognized and as a result, lifts his Praise to God for His unchanging character, that was to him his surety and security! The surety of his not turning away his prayer and the Security of His never withdrawing or cutting off His lovingkindness, His unfailing love, Loyal love from him, and in contemplating His character caused him to choose to praise Him based on the truth about Him! Have you ever thought about these two truths, and reasons for you to Praise Him for what He has not done?
Psalm 66:20 would be good to read over and over, to meditate, memorize and use to celebrate God in your praying and praise!
PAUSE and PRAISE for what He has NOT DONE to you!
“Blessed be God,
Who has NOT turned away my prayer
NOR His lovingkindness {unfailing love}from me.”-{Psalm 66:20}
God Bless,
