Just considering Jesus the Savior…perhaps it may be fuel to encourage you and praise Him for Who He is to you – MATT 1:21 these words – ” She will bear a Son; and you shall call His Name Jesus, for He WILL SAVE His people from their sins.”
“JESUS” – The Name is Significant …it is the Greek form of JOSHUA which means “Yahweh is Salvation.” As used in Exodus 24:13 …Savior…speaks of… DELIVERER, PRESERVER…. JESUS NOT ONLY DELIVERS BUT HE PRESERVES THOSE IN WHOM HE DELIVERS. He is Mighty to save.
What type of Savior is He? The Bible teaches He is…
AN APPROACHABLE SAVIOR
“Cry out, ‘Save us, O God our Savior; gather us and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name, that we may glory in your praise.'” – 1 Chron 16:35
AN AUTHENTIC SAVIOR
“I, even I, am the LORD , and apart from me there is no savior.”- Isaiah 43:11
JESUS IS THE PROMISED SAVIOR.
“From this man’s descendants God has brought to Israel the Savior Jesus, as He promised.”- Acts 13:23
JESUS IS THE EXALTED SAVIOR.
Acts 5:31 – “God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.” – Acts 5:31 – Note the two gifts that Are Gifted through the Son, repentance and forgiveness.
JESUS IS THE SAVIOR OF THE CHURCH
“Christ is… the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the Body.” – Ephesians 5:23
JESUS IS THE VICTORIOUS SAVIOR
“but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” – 2 Timothy 1:10
JESUS IS A KIND SAVIOR
“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit…” Titus 3:4-5
JESUS IS A RIGHTEOUS SAVIOR
“Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours…” – 2 Peter 1:1
JESUS IS A POWERFUL SAVIOR
“Therefore He is able also to SAVE FOREVER those who draw near to God through Him…” – Heb 7:25
THE TESTIMONY TO THE SAVIOR
“They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.” – John 4:42
JESUS IS THE SAVIOR FROM SIN
“ and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”- Matt 1:21
He Is THE Wonderful Savior Mighty to rescue and preserve you.
Jesus Christ is THE SAVIOR, but is He yours?
Have you personally come to Him by faith and entrusted yourself, your sin, into His care? He is a wonderful and merciful Savior. If you are still living your life on your terms- you are what the Bible calls,”lost,” seperated from God and a right relationship with Him. You are without God and Christ and estranged from God who made you and sent His Son to die in your place so you may be accepted fully, totally by God based on the work of the Lord Jesus- alone!
Prayer – Now is the time to Repent- do a u-turn toward God and Place your trust in Jesus Christ Alone to deliver and save you if this is the desire of your heart, you could pray something like this. Prayer does not save you JESUS saves… but you could use these words to convey the desire of your heart –
“Lord I have sinned against You and lived my life on my terms for my sake and not yours. By faith in the work of your Son I am now Turning from self rule and submitting to Your authority, and receiving from You forgiveness for all my sins and newness of life. I receive You Jesus as Lord to rule over me and Savior to save me from the penalty of sin, and into a living relationship with You.”
He is such a Kind Savior and He alone is THE Savior.
