“I WILL…I WILL…I WILL…I WILL”– 4 times in two verses David says “I will extol…bless…praise… forever and ever” “…my God, O KING!” {1-2}. It was a settled conviction, irrespective of circumstances God would receive his praise. He set his will to do so! Though David was a “king” yet he knew there was but One TRUE King- and though he may have others bow before him, he would not stand in the place of God for he too was a man and he would take his rightful, joyful place at the feet of the Eternal King. God was not afar off to him but personal and he was a man under authority, in glad and awe struck submission to Him whom he declares as “my God, O King”{v1},- In this psalm there is “fuel for your faith and worship” to be had to stir up the zeal of affection, devotion, meditation, celebration to Him who is worthy.

The word “King” speaks of Sovereignty. He Reigns, He rules. He is the KING of Kings, there is no one or nothing not under His Sovereign control. The Psalmist declares that “every day” he “will” praise, bless, extol” the KING…
