Imagine this scenario, a child comes all excited to their parent,or a student to a career guidance counselor and says,
“Do you know what I want to be when I grow up?”
“What’s that?”
“I WANT TO BE A FOOL!”
“DO YOU KNOW how to achieve your goal?”
“No!”
“Well let me help you. Two ways you can be a fool is…
1. -The “Fool” opposes God.-{Psalm 14:1}
2. -The ‘Fool” is his or her’s own “god,” -{Prov 12;15}
No one ever says,”I want to be a fool when I grow up.”
“The FOOL has said in his heart- NO GOD! {Read Psalm 14:1}.
The “fool,” is opposed to God and His teaching, His Word and is morally corrupt. It is not that they are not intelligent, but they are morally corrupt and spiritually bankrupt, Dead in their sins and living in rebellion against their Creator! They may be “nice” people,” well respected in the community even in church but they are spiritually lost and in defiance and rebellion against God’s authority and Word! Their “niceness” when confronted with the claims of Jesus Christ is met with stiff opposition for it challenges their “god,”- themselves, and their crown and kingdom! Some will stomach “religion” in its various forms but will not stomach HIS REIGN over them!
No one ever said that their ambition in life was to be a “fool,” yet many a life shows they have achieved the status of “fool.” “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.”-{Prov 12:15}. The “Fool” opposes God.-{Psalm 14:1}
The “Fool” is his or her’s own “god,” -{Prov 12;15}This should not lead us to look down on them or be argumentative, Paul gives good advice for us,…in how we are to behave and speak…“The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. “ -{2 Timothy 2;24-26}. This should call us to a heart of compassion and prayer for them to Him for mercy, grace, and repentance as He showed us who also were once “fools!”
Do you Know a “Fool?” Be kind, gentle to them, share His Word And Pray to Him for them!
Be A Godly Friend and influence to the “Fool.”
