SALVATION- UNTO GOOD WORKS. -v10

“…created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” – v10

God CREATED US WITH A PURPOSE- to walk, as a new empowered lifestyle, consistently live in those “good works” God has prepared for us.

“FOR…” Gives the explanation…

“Good works” are the “fruit,” of this new life of being ALIVE with Christ. The “Good works”are a manifestation of being saved. We don’t work to seek or gain His favor, but in light of the fact we have His favor and acceptance, “good works” are an evidence of His salvation and an appreciation to Him for this wonderful salvation. God has given the believer the resurrection power to enable us to fulfill those “good works” that have been created for us. So as you “go” daily, what is before you, you have the power to do, resurrected Power that raised you from the deadness of sins and translated you into the Kingdom of His Beloved Son. You have power to do “good works.” And ultimately the purpose of “good works”is to “let your light shine so that others that they  may see your “good works” and GLORIFY your Father in Heaven” – {Matt 5:16}. You were “created” for the doing of “good works,” you have the power within to accomplish His “good works ,”He has laid before you. Salvation through His resurrected power unto “Good works.”  Good works are those things that are beneficial to others,{Gal 6:9-10}; done in love,{1 Cor 16;10}; motivated for the Glory of God.{1 Cor 10;31}. Not only the action but the attitude of why you do good!

God has saved, delivered, rescued us from satan’s power,{2 Tim 2;26}; sin’s penalty and the wrath of God. but He saved us to show forth, reflect His character and goodness in this earth, where we live, work. He saved us and freed us to become whom He designed and desired us to be which sin had marred. The Holy Spirit lives within us to Glorify Him. The more we grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord, the more the Holy Spirit conforms us to the Lord Jesus, the more we desire to please Him and is manifested in “good works!” Whom the Lord saves, He changes and “good works” an evidence of this new life “in Christ!” God produces “fruit”of “good works” through us! So, we cannot be saved by “good works” but those who are saved, produce “good works” as God defines them!

Good Works Are A Witness To The Unsaved;. “Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles [that is, among the unsaved], that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation” – (1 Peter 2:11-12).

Good works are our edifying example to our fellow believers. “In all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility” (Titus 2:7).

Good works are the means by which we lovingly serve the needs of our fellow believers. “And let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful” (Titus 3:14).

Good works are an integral part of God’s eternal plan, and therefore they are our highest responsibility.“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). “{Christ} gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous{Eager} for good works” (Titus 2:14).

She was Known FOR her “Good works,“- “Now in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which translated in Greek is called Dorcas); this woman was abounding with deeds of kindness and charity which she continually did.”- {Acts 9:36}

Believers were known FOR their Good Works; “For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints.”-{Heb 6:10}

BELIEVERS are TO DO GOOD, TO “ALL PEOPLE,” “So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.”- {Gal 6:10}.

  • We  need only to have “Opportunity”.
  • We have Candidates; ” all people, especially to those of the household of faith,”
  • We Have our Mandate; “Do Good”
  • We have our Reason; “… they  may see your “good works” and GLORIFY your Father in Heaven” – {Matt 5:16}

DO YOU WANT TO SEE GOD GLORIFIED? Then “DO GOOD!” Find someone in need and Do a good deed, with love, for His glory.

It is not a matter of lack of opportunity but at times a lack of love and concern for His fame that opportunities are not taken up, which He places before us and unfortunately like the two religious people who walked deliberately, conscientiously, choosing to walk on the other side of the street from the man who had been jumped on and left for dead. They had opportunity, they rejected it, they rejected Him, they rejected a man in need. Thank God there was a “GOOD Samaritan,” who saw, stopped, stooped to help and serve the injured man and take him to a place of safety and assure the person that if the injured man needed anything while he went on his way about his business when he returned he would take care of any expenses. Jesus told this story on what it means to “LOVE” your neighbor. SOMEONE Else’s misfortune, need, is YOUR OPPORTUNITY to make a choice, choose to walk by and leave them in their distress, or choose to walk towards the person and help by DOING GOOD and showing, demonstrating love and in doing so, God is glorified. “Let us not love in word or tongue BUT IN DEEDS and TRUTH.”-{1 John 3:16-18}.
