His Promise,
“… The LORD your God IS with you WHEREVER you go.”-{Joshua 1:9}. We are never alone, nowhere outside of His presence where He is not with… and… for… us. !
Joshua had taken over from Moses and God had given him favor with the people and as he would forward in the will of God to do the will of God, he would encounter conflict, difficulties, trials and troubles of various sorts and intensities. God wanted to assure him that no matter what circumstance or where he went he would never be left alone… by God! How often when things get difficult, hard for is we question “where is God?” Somehow we believe that we should not experience trials, suffering that somehow we are exempt from them because we are now followers of Christ! But anyone reading the New Testament will know Jesus said we would experience troubles in this world, indeed for identification with Him we should expect them, including people saying all kinds of evil against you on account of Jesus.“Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. “-{Matt 5;11-12}. James said “when” not “if” you encounter trials. {James 1:2-3}. Peter spoke of suffering, ” Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you;”-{1 Peter 4:12}. Paul spoke of it, “…all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. “-{2 Tim 3:12}. Jesus said, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” -{John 16:33}.
Trials and troubles are to be expected, but we are not left helpless or hopeless for He has provided us, “…seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises,“-{2 Peter 1:3-4}. God has given us Power and Promises to be used and He promises us His presence, ever with us! Avail and thank Him for these three…power….promises… His Presence!
As with Joshua, He was faithful to Him , so too He is and will be faithful to you, to know and do His will,”…wherever you go!”
Remember, It’s never a question of who is not with you but WHO is with you, presently, permanently, He never leaves you to travel life’s journey on your own- ever!
Where are you now? He is present with you … and should you live another minute, hour, day, week, month or many many years remember His promise to Joshua is also for you. No matter who walks out, or is removed, know He never ever will abandon His loving blood bought commitment and responsibility to you as His own, you are God’s “… chosen, Holy, beloved one…”- {Read Col 3:12} God is permanently present with you wherever you go! Great news. Be confident and courageous as you step forward doing the next thing, the right thing, to honor Him and know as you go he is present with you and remember and thank him for HIS PROMISE…
Hide this verse in your heart. Memorize, meditate, praise Him,Share it and apply it to your life, “wherever,” you find yourself in your journey to the father’s house. For that is where all His followers end up….{Read John 14:2-3}
