There Is a Promise of Help for you from the God of Heaven and earth!

The word, “Help,” {Psalm 121:2} – {“Boetheia.”} – is a beautiful word picture of one who upon hearing a cry for help, runs to give aid to assist in times of hardship or distress, to help assist and serve a person in time of need!

Cry out for help and like the psalmist it says when He hears the cry HE COMES RUNNING TO AID, ASSIST- Who is it that does so? “THE LORD, Maker of Heaven and earth.” {Psalm 121:2}. He who spoke the world effortlessly into existence, Creative power, Unlimited power- is the ONE whom the Psalmist address’s, and He responds with His “credentials,” He can meet this, He does not hear and say, “sorry this is above my ability….” no, He comes running to your aid, sometimes He delivers “From!” Sometimes He sustains “In.” But He always comes to “HELP.” He is one cry away…

1. -HELP IS PERSONAL;
My Help comes from the LORD…” – Psalm 121:2. The Psalmist has a personal relationship with the LORD as his servant and is therefore qualified to receive HELP from Him, and knowing Him  he confidently says ” my help COMES from the LORD.” He knows whom he has believed in and is persuaded based on His character and ability that He will meet and help him.
2.-HELP’S PROTECTION;
– PSALM 7:10- THE word for “help” is translated “SHIELD’ in this passage.-“‘My shield is with God who saves the upright of heart.” Shield is a metaphor picturing the protecting presence of God {Boetheis} conveys the idea that God upon hearing our cry for help. God runs to give His protection.
*** What a beautiful thought is found here- read carefully and slowly…
3. – HELP’S SECURITY;
-PSALM 91;1- “He who dwells in the shelter { “secret place”- the word “Boetheia,”} of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.” The word for “shelter” it is interesting means “covering” and conveys the idea of a”secrecy.” The word, “SHELTER” { again the word,”Boetheia.”}…. and “shelter,” can translate,“He that dwells in THE HELP of the LORD.”– How beautiful. We dwell in the HELP of the LORD!
4. -HELP’S DELIVERER;
-ISAIAH 41:10,14– ” Do not fear, for I Am with you. Do not anxiously look about you, for I Am your God. I will strengthen you , surely I will HELP YOU…” { God hearing your cry , runs to you to aid, and assist you.”}- That is why when tempted we need not yield to fear, or anxiety, because HE PROMISES- CRY OUT AND I WILL COME TO YOUR AID AND ASSISTANCE”}

5. –HELP’S PROMISE;
HEBREWS 4:14-16- “Let us therefore draw near with confidence, {fearlessly, boldly } to the THRONE OF GRACE, that we may RECEIVE mercy and may Find GRACE TO HELP {Boetheia} in time of need.”- CRYING OUT TO HIM, He responds and runs to aid, assist you, RELIEVE YOU, THE NEEDY ONE MAY COME EXPECTANTLY TO RECEIVE grace to help- WHEN IN DIFFICULTY, RELIEVE, OR WANT OR DISTRESS, TO ASSIST AND DELIVER …, TO SUCCOR A BESIEGED CITY..” There is None Higher than The LORD in Authority, Ability, Loving Aid! He bids you, “COME … and RECEIVE… Mercy and FIND GRACE TO…HELP… IN TIME OF NEED.”
6. HELP… has a PROVIDER.
Your “need is His opportunity to meet you with Himself.
“My God will supply all of your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ.” -{Phil 4:19}. Here is His PROMISE to You in your time of “Need,” He is your “HELP!”

7. HELP …From ABOVE…“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and HE WILL GIVE it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. “-{James 1:5}.

8. HELP… is AVAILABLE…
“Come confidently, boldly to the Throne of grace to RECEIVE, Mercy, and find Grace to HELP in time of need.”- {Heb 4:15}. The word, “Help,” is the same word translated in {Psalm 121:2}. {“Boetheia.”} – is a beautiful word picture of one who upon hearing a cry for help, runs to give aid to assist in times of hardship or distress, to help assist and serve a person in time of need!

9. HELP…is WITHIN…

“In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;”-{Romans 8;26}.

The Holy Spirit resides permanently within you to help in your weakness. The context is prayer. When we do not know what to pray. He takes our prayers and as it was straightens them out and presents what is needed for us so that we may Glorify Him in our circumstances. Have you ever said,”LORD I don’t know what to pray?” The good thing is the answer in this verse to comfort and strengthen  our faith and assure us, because we do not know what to pray there is some One who does know and He does pray for us- The Holy Spirit. He helps us in our weakness, and the context is when we do not know what to pray!

The word,”Help” (sunantilambanomai from sun/syn = together, + antilambáno = to support, help) means to take hold of anything with another, to take part in his burden or work, and thus to give help. It speaks of the action of a person coming to another’s aid by taking hold over against that person, of the load he is carrying. The person helping does not take the entire load, but helps the other person in his endeavor. The word is used where Martha says to the Lord Jesus concerning Mary

But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him, and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me. (Lk 10:40)”-{preceptaustin commentaries}
