A young man had believed a lie that he had sinned so much that there was not enough grace for him to be saved, but what beautiful words of encouragement we find in Romans 5 :20, “The Law came, so that the full power of sin could be seen. Yet where sin was powerful, God’s gift of undeserved grace was even more powerful.”

There was not only enough grace for him but also every sinner who needs His pardon and cries out to Him in repentance and faith.

If Sin is greater than the Grace of God then God is not greater than sin!

Then His grace is insufficient, and God is deficient, and sin is MASTER and LORD and God it’s servant!- But it is not! God and His Grace is greater!

Consider sin’s power versus God’s Grace and power;

“The Law came, so that the full power of sin could be seen. Yet where sin was powerful, God’s gift of undeserved grace was even more powerful.” –{Rom 5:20,-Contemporary English Version.}

“…even though I used to blaspheme the name of Christ. In my insolence, I persecuted his people. But God had mercy on me because I did it in ignorance and unbelief.”-{1 Timothy 1;13- NLT}.

“But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. “-{Romans 5:15}

“For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.“-{Romans 5:17}

“Where Sin reigns it ruins!”-{Wayne Barber}

Where sin Controls, It corrupts totally.

“Sin” {Hamartia} is missing the mark, that is failure to live up and live out God’s standard of perfection. “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”-{Romans 3:23}. It is rebellion against God, – Why will you still be struck down? Why will you continue to rebel? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.”-{Isaiah 1:5},It is to despise His Word and Him!-{Read 2 Samuel 12;9-10}. “Ah, stubborn children,” declares the Lord, “who carry out a plan, but not mine, and who make an alliance, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin;“-{Isaiah 30:1}.

Where Grace reigns there is abundance of power to overcome. If sin was a river, enclosed on each side by  two high embankments that rises, Grace, the favor, kindness, forgiveness and power of God rises above and super abounds, overflowing as it were and break the two banks and cannot be contained ans overflows to surrounding fields covering them with water!  “Yet where sin was powerful, God’s gift of undeserved grace was even more powerful.” –{Rom 5:20,}.

Scripture is Full of His Grace in action, His undeserved favor, kindness and empowerment. Consider Some ways we can see and rejoice, delight in His grace to us, for us and toward us and through us.

Where GRACE Reigns it Liberates and Empowers!

1. His GRACE is Enough To SAVE;

” For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.“-{Ephesians 2:8-9} .

” When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you  alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” -{Col 2:13-15}.

The word “cancelled” means to “ERASE.” In those days a poor scribe would use a pen that contained no acid, so the ink lay on the surface of the scroll, and with a damp cloth could wipe the surface and “ERASE” what was written, so he could re-use them! So on the cross, Jesus paid for your sin and wiped the slate clean so there is no charge against you as He bore all of your sin and there is no charge against you in heaven. Glorious forgiveness at His expense, His life! What amazing Grace!

2. His GRACE is enough to SUSTAIN and SATISFY;

” And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.”  – {2 Cor 12:9}.

The word “Sufficient,” means “enough,” with the implication to “satisfy!” His Grace sustains and satisfies!

3. His GRACE is Enough To TRANSFORM, CHANGE US;

” For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age,  looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.” -{Titus 2;11-14}.

God’s grace is greater than ALL your sin combined, all of it heaped together is still not enough to overcome His Super-abounding Grace, His kindness, favor, empowering!

He has enough grace To overcome and impart SALVATION, SUSTAIN,SATISFY,TRANSFORM and CHANGE, you!

God’s Grace is Him in action, loving personal, intimate involvement showing and showering His Sovereign Unearned Favor, kindness, forgiveness and empowerment upon you and through you. He has enough GRACE for you! He is called ” The God of ALL Grace.”-{ 1 Peter 5:10 }.

Grace comes through The LORD Jesus Christ “For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.” -{ John 1:17 }

“May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.”-{ 2 Peter 1:2}

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

Refrain:
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin!

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide;
What can we do to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
Brighter than snow you may be today.

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive? ” -{Julia H Johnston}.
