WHAT TYPE OF BODY WILL YOU GET?– {Read 1 Cor 15:42-44}.

I just finished another painful IV treatment for my muscle disease two days ago. I did well just to be able to what it seemed like crawl to bed afterwards so so weak, ‘BUT GOD…’ warmed my heart as I considered some truths from 1 Corinthians 15 on the Resurrection and yesterday and this morning thinking about NEW BODIES- RESURRECTED BODIES… Hope this encourages you!

This body we are in, at times experiences Aches and pains, limitations, fatigue, weariness, illness, restrictions, decay and ultimately death…”BUT CHRIST…” {1 Cor 15:20} through His resurrection gives us some glorious news of a future hope and a future body and motivation for the present to Celebrate Him and Co -Labor with and for Him in these present bodies knowing they are not what we will be “suited” for all eternity with! We will be “changed”- …”He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like His own, using the same power with which He will bring everything under His control.”- { Read Phil 3:21 NLT}

One of the impacts of the Resurrection of the LORD Jesus Christ is His authority and power to raise the Believers to be with Him in Heaven forever. But what kind of body will we have? Note Paul in trying to convey something of the greatness of it all and this he does by making a COMPARISON with the body we have now, which is earthly, natural body compared to the future Resurrected body.

Note the phrases to show the COMPARISON…

“SOWN IN” and “RAISED IN” – v 42-44

“So also is the resurrection of the dead.
The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption.
It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory.
It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power.
It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
Presently these human earthly bodies have limitations and are corruptible

WHAT WILL OUR NEW BODY BE LIKE?

Paul gives us FOUR Attributes in these verses…

1.-   An Imperishable body.- v42
2. – A Glorified body – v43
3. – A Powerful body – v43
4. – A Spiritual body – v44

{A Good study is to look at what each of the above mean}

SO no matter how “fit” you may be or unfit, “healthy” or unhealthy, know this body you are in was not built for eternity as it is, “BUT CHRIST…has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died.”– v 20…. and He has the AUTHORITY, POWER TO CHANGE US, EQUIP US for Eternity with New Resurrected Bodies… What a glorious Savior He is and what Glorious thoughts to contemplate! So the next time you have an ache, pain, limitation you can smile not in the suffering but knowing this is not the end for one day in the twinkling of an eye you will be changed and fitted with a new Heavenly designed body by the Risen all conquering Christ. Made to measure!…What two beautiful words to contemplate “BUT CHRIST…”

GROWING OLD

Oh and as regarding “aging?” Even that can be good, as it is just a sign I am getting ready for “the runway” to taxi down, like a plane about to take off, I am getting ready to take off into eternity to meet Him and be CHANGED by Him! Age is just a process of preparation to go be “With Him!” Paul wrote from difficult circumstances, “…my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose. But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better;” -{Read Phil 1:20-23}

IN THE MEANTIME-?

“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless..”-{1 Cor 15:58- NLT}

You Have A new Glorified Body On “LAY-AWAY”Awaiting you!! 🙂
