“Strongholds,… fortress’s.” The word was used in the physical realm of military fortress’s for protection, that were thick walled and difficult to penetrate. Paul speaks about “strongholds in the spiritual realm,” as lies, ideas, philosophies opposed to God and His ways and they are like fortress’s built up in the mind, where the evil one has people captive spiritually, gauging life through the lens of such lies. “But God…” we read the word, “FOR…” any time you read that, slow down, and consider what is about to be said, camp on it. 1-  POWER OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD. – He is God. He is a Person. Not an “it.” His power and provisions has been given to teach you, remind you, empower you. Enlighten you to spiritual things, which apart from him, the “natural man” cannot understand!  “Natural man,” as described in 1 Corinthians 2:6-16 refers to the person who does not understand God’s words and toughts they are foolishness to that person, because they are  not in a right relationship with God through repentance towards God and placing exclusive faith in the Person and work of the LORD Jesus Christ. who gifts His followers with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit illuminates!-{1 Cor 2;14-16}. What the flesh cannot do He can. He is your sufficiency! He strengthens you, enables you. “The Spirit of God dwells in you”-{1 Cor 3:16}. He lives within you to accomplish God’s Word in and through you. He is our Spiritual Power. “…no one can say” Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.”-{1 Cor 12:3}. ” The Spirit of God gives spiritual gifts to each person “In Christ,” for the common good, to build them up.“But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.”-{1 Cor 12:6}. The Spirit of God is All Knowing- “Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God,”-{1 Cor 2:11-12}.  “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God,”-{1 Cor 2:12}. “Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.”-{1 Cor 6:11}.

He is “The Spirit and of Power,”–{1 Cor 2:4}.

  • Power to illumine. He Lives within you.
  • Power to reveal and strengthen, to testify.
  • Power to impart spiritual gifts.
  • Power to know the mind of God.
  • Power to understand. He is the Spirit of Power!
  • Power to Overcome!
  • Power to destroy spiritual strongholds, ideas, thoughts, that seek to imprison others and …you!

 2. – POWER OF THE WORD OF GOD. –– The POWER, to live Godly in our thinking, motivation, decision making and actions.

We are at war. Spiritual war, with ideologies, thoughts, anti-God, thoughts to beat us down, wear us down, doubts, fears, anxieties, despair.. “BUT GOD…” has given us spiritual weapons for this fight of faith! To seek to use natural means we had when we were in “Adam,” of the flesh, self dependence are useless, powerless, and this is why we have to renew our minds. We need to study His WORD to know Him better, so we can honor Him, to do so we must handle His Word accurately. John speaks about “young men overcoming the evil one.”- {1 John 2:13}. They were sufficient in the handling of His Word! “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the Word of TRUTH.”-{2 Tim 2:15}.  “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”-{Hebrews 4:12}. “I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.”-{1 John 2:14}. “And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”-{Acts 20:32}. Jesus said “I Am The Way, The TRUTH…”-{John 14:6}. His Word is TRUE {John 17:17}. “...If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; you shall KNOW the TRUTH and the TRUTH WILL Make YOU FREE.!”-{John 8;31-32}. “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;  so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”-{2 Timothy 3:16-17}. “But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’”-{Matt 4:4}.

3. –  POWER OF THE PROMISES OF GOD.-

The POWER, of precious and magnificent PROMISES.-“…seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.”-{2 Peter 1:3-4}

4. – POWER OF THE WORD OF GOD AND PRAYER.-

THE HOLY SPIRIT USES THE COMBINATION OF THE WORD OF GOD AND PRAYER TO PREVAIL IN THE SPIRITUAL BATTLE. – “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.  Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.-{Eph 6:10-20}.

The Spirit of God uses the Word of GOD to accomplish spiritual ends through His POWER, PROMISES, and PRAYER!

POWER; HIS SPIRIT, HIS WORD, PRAYER, HIS PROVISIONS FOR YOUR  LIFE, IN THE BATTLE.
