I woke up early this morning and everything seemed ok, and then…it was just during my praying that all of a sudden the dark thoughts of discouragement seemed to slowly gather over me as I continued praying. I paused and three beautiful verses came to mind to lift my soul. I pray these may encourage you to hope in God…
1.- “Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence.”-(Psalm 42:5)
When but in darkness would you need a lamp? Or when but in darkness would you need a light to shine before your feet so you could see what lies before you and see where you are going?
We don’t need a lamp or a light during day for we have the sun and light so we can see, but it is in the darkness. And it is in those times of darkness, spiritual darkness God has again provided for us.
2.- Consider this verse and take hope in Him-“Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”- {Psalm 119:105).
In the midst of dark and difficult times when there seems no way, He has made a way for you and me to take one step at a time, the next step, to continue walking, with His Word, to give us the light our hearts and minds need to follow Him.
Times may be tough, times may be dark but you can walk on following Him one step at a time in obedience and faith because He has provided a lamp for your feet and a light for your path – HIS WORD!
So, when clouds of despair and hopelessness would seek to settle in like a dark blanket or thick fog of despair or hopelessness upon you, speak to yourself as the psalmist did and answer yourself as the Psalmist did “ put your hope in God,” who has, is, will help you and using His Word as a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path, keep walking in the truth doing what is right before Him, trusting Him with the next thing, the very thing before you.
Thank God for the provision of the light of His Word for us …
3.- “… in whose Word I praise.”-( Psalm 56:4)
You have Reasons to Praise Him in the journey.
And we can as the psalmist said…
A.- Praise Him for His PRESENCE to HELP us-“…for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence.”( Psalm 42:5)
B.- And Praise Him for His WORD to GUIDE us! “… in whose Word I praise…”-(Psalm 56:4); “Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”- {Psalm 119:105).
God bless
