April 6 2023

A few difficult days with my muscle disease. Pain wise. Pain has increased and since the bad fall a couple of weeks ago it has exasperated the pain it seems. Bedridden these past several days, painful without even trying to move but when I do move it saps me of energy. Very little sleep.

Life changes so quickly at times.

I had been on some meds that after a few weeks really helped and gave me some “quality of life,” but I was weaned off them as they can cause damage. So I cannot be on them long…Well, as they wore off things got worse…

Drs have started me back on another round of meds to try to ease the suffering…

“But God…” comforts me with His Word as my companion.

“This is my comfort in my affliction, Your Word has revived(refreshed) me-“-( Psalm 119:50).

There is no trial so great, so long where He will not find a way to comfort His child!

  • He is the God of “ALL Comfort”- (2 Cor 1:3)-
  • He Comforts us in our affliction-(2 Cor 1:4.)
  • He uses the SPIRIT of God to Comfort us. -{John 14:16; Acts 9:31}
  • He uses His SCRIPTURES to Comfort us. – (Psalm 119:50.)
  • He uses His SAINTS- People to Comfort us. – (2 Cor 7:6)
  • He Comforts us so that we may know Him better and also SHARE His Comfort with others in their affliction with the Comfort which He has comforted us with!-(2 Cor 1:4)

God Comforts us with HIMSELF, SPIRIT, SCRIPTURES, SAINTS, and SHARING His comfort with others.

If we never knew pain and sorrow we would never need His Comfort… but the Man of Sorrows who is acquainted  with grief empathizes with us -(Hebrews 4:15-16) supplies for us “ALL” the comfort we need.

Our afflictions can be used to draw us to God… and experiencing His comfort can cause us to recognize and compassionately identify and minister comfort to others who are afflicted and in need of God’s comfort.

Your crushing makes you a candidate for the “GOD OF ALL COMFORT” to comfort you and equip you to comfort others!

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”-(2 Cor 1:3-4)

I am thankful also to Him to allow me to continue to meditate upon His Word and write these daily devotionals as it helps keep my mind on Him and also with a prayer that may encourage others.

God bless
