- is NOT to draw me closer to God.
- Is NOT that I might Know God more intimately.
- is NOT to cause me to Love God more affectionately and wholeheartedly.
- is NOT to cause me to Love Others more sacrificially.
- Is NOT that I may rely on and Trust God with all of our heart.
- Is NOT that I Glorify God as my end.
- It offers me a way that is NOT God’s Way…Is Not for God’s Glory or my good.
- The Goal of Temptation is to tempt you and me to yield and sin against God ultimately.
“BUT GOD…” Has made provision for us so we need not yield to temptation to sin but makes provision through His promise and power in 1 Corinthians 10:13
“No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but “No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance];but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].”-{1 Corinthians 10:13 Amplified Bible}.
THREE PROMISES FROM THIS VERSE…
- Temptation Is Not Unique to you.– “No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance];
- God Is Faithful.- “…No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance];”
- God Provides an escape so you or me do not have to sin against God.– “…but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].”
Take hope in Him and from His Word through His Spirit empowering you over temptation.
God Bless,
Aidan.
