God provides for us in times of temptation, for He knows us, the world we live in that is full of temptation of various types, such s the evil one tempting Eve todoubt what God said and did He even mean what He said,to other types uch as David’s lust for Bathsheba-{2 Sam 1,12; 1 Kings 1.2}. Temptations come from without- as Matt 4 shows and they come from within us. as James 1:14-15 shows us. And temptations goal is for us to choose to yiled and sin against God.

Temptations vary as seen in 1 Corinthians 10:1-9 of the ones Isreael succumbed to and which God warn us that there is no temptation that is not unique to us.-{Read 1 Corinthians 1:1-10} But with the temptations God has supplied us with means to HELP us and belwo aresome of those to consider and embrace through applying in those times of temptation. Pray these will enourage you!

There is HELP  In…

1.- GOD’S WORD;-

A.-“I have treasured Your Word in my heart, So that I may not sin against You.”-{Psalm 119:11}

B.- When Jesus was tempted He overcame through The Word of God, knowing and applying it. Three times He responded by referring to the Word of God as His authority, -“But He answered and said, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’”-{Read Matthew 4:4,7,10}

C.- Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is [a]lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”-{Phil 4:8}

D.- “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and [c]acceptable and perfect.

Note, the command is to”Flee” but not “flee” aimlessly but flee “FROM…Temptation and instead.”PURSUE..” righteousness, faith, love, and peace. and Godly companionship! This is how you also overcome temptation. FLEE FROM…PURSUE AFTER…. What are you Pursuing after?

No temptation has overtaken you except something common to mankind; and God is faithful, so He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.”-{1 Cor 10:13}.

Temptation Is a reality that we all face.

Not always the same type but all without exception face it in its various forms. We need not yield for we have a “But God…” for every temptation.

We have…HELP  in….

 1.- God’s Word.

2.- Godly Prayer-to appeal to Him for help

3.- God’s  Son

4.- God’s Plan- Flee and Pursue!

5.- God’s Promise and Power.

He has made provision for us in times of temptation!

“BUT GOD…” OFFERS HOPE…If we Yield and sin, God has provided provision that if we confess our sin He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us from all sin… we can begin afresh, a little wiser as we consider the trap the temptation set and appealed to in us and learn from it, and lean on the LORD to strengthen us in that area and thank Him the blood of Jesus Christ cleanes us from all unrighteousness.

  • “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”-{1 John 1:8-9}

And should we yield to temptation thank God He has made provision through the Blood of the LORD Jesus that as we acknowledge our sin, turn from it, and trust His Son’s promise to forgive and cleanse us we can start afresh. We can be restored!

We can trust Him to help us look and learn from it and look away to Jesus leaning in on Him and His Word to strengthen us to guard that in which we yielded to sin through the specific temptation. Take Hope. We can begin afresh “In Christ.”

God Bless,
