PRAYING…To HIS End!
The heart humbled before God and conscious of something of His greatness ever learning to pray with right motives will pray to… HIS end,
namely …In the matter, whatever the circumstances…
“Father…
* Hallowed be YOUR Name
* YOUR kingdom come
* YOUR will be done
* Not my will, YOUR will be done …Father GLORIFY YOUR Name…”
Praying to HIS END… Allows us to check what our motives are as we pray. Whose END are we aiming for? Whose END do we have in sight? Are we aiming our prayers towards Him, to END With His GLORY the goal?
At times amidst the difficulties, pain, when satan would seek to inject thoughts to confuse, know it is not the LORD but ask Him to help you align your heart, mind, to aim for HIS END. At times we all would rather another way. Jesus once said “Let this cup pass from Me”- in other words in facing the cross, and the total abandoning from His Father on it and bearing the sin. If there was another way, this would be His preference, but yet we see His PRIORITY, “NEVERTHELESS, Not My will, Thy Will Be done…Father Glorify Your Name”. We can all have preferences but the cross and HIS END calls us back to the Priority- His Glory. We were created for His glory{ish 43:7}; But due to sin we have “all fallen short of the glory of God.” But He has redeemed us and as new creatures in Christ “whatever you do, do all for the glory of God.” And this includes our praying. We can pray wherever we are to Him who is Glorious and who deserves all the glory honor and power in every circumstance. No longer “glorify my name, my will be done, my kingdom come, ” but HIS Name, Kingdom, Will being done and displayed in the matter. To HIM be the glory. HIS END to be our new END when we pray! So we ask ourselves, whose END am I seeking, mine or His? At times we ask for our end not His, James wrote, ” “You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.”-{James 4:3}. It comes down to our motivation. And at times we have asked not for HIS End, but our own end the goal. But He is faithful to help strengthen us and straighten our spiritual perspective when we pray. And when we don’t know how to pray, what a great Prayer Matthew 6:9-10 is to remind us, to keep us focused!
Aim, when you pray with HIS END the goal! His Name and Fame the outcome sought and asked for and looking to Him to accomplish. As we pray with HIS End in view, we can be assured He will answer this prayer.
Take hope and courage from these words John wrote,
“This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.”-{1 John 5:14-15}.
PRAYER; Ask the LORD to remind you, and teach you and me to develop a new ever increasing habit , when we pray we would PRAY… to HIS END
That together we all would pray to… HIS END… and use this wonderful gift and weapon of prayer….which cost Him His life to impart to us!
