WHAT WAS GOD DOING BEFORE THE CREATION of the Heavens and the EARTH, before  Genesis  1:1 “In the Beginning God…”

 John 17:24- Gives us a glimpse into eternity before the foundation of the world

  • The end of v 23 we see Jesus in His High priestly prayers says…“  even as You Loved” ….in
  • V 24 “ Father,… for You LOVED Me  before the foundation of  world”   and the end of v 26
  • “…so that the Love with which You have loved Me  may be in them, and I in Them,”

So what was taking place before the world was created? V24- says The Father was loving the Son

He loved Him not only before the foundation of the earth but when He appeared upon the earth. Listen to …

. “ Mark 1:9 -At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 As Jesus was coming up out of the water Hee saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

  • We are told that the Triune God made plans for the history of the universe and the inhabitants of the earth prior to their creation …
  • Eph 1:11- Acts :15:18-20 “Known unto God are all His works from the beginning of the world “ Also we have obtained and inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works All Things AFTER the counsel of HIS OWN WILL.”

  1. – SELECTING

  • And we learn that certain body of people would be created  who, before they even existed would be SELECTED by Him for Himself- Eph 1:4 reads , “ Just as He chose us In Him  BEFORE THE FOUNDATION of the world.”-

 

  1. – WRITING

* Furthermore, Rev 17:8 says – a “Book of Life was written,”. There was prepared in which their names were written, although there would be many born in the future world “whose names are written in the book of Life from the FOUNDATION of the World.”

Jesus was not plan B- – the OOPS… mankind has messed up Now what will  God do!! He is not an after thought, or a reserve “just in case”. No Listen to Holy Scripture… Before the creation of the heavens and the earth, God was not only Glorying, Loving , Planning, Selecting Writing but also…

  

  1. -ORDAINING 

FOREORDAINED

  • 1 Peter 1:20 –says He was “foreordained before the foundation of the world” –
  • “FORE ORDAINED” THE WORD MEANS…..
  • Acts 2:22– Is the account of Peter’s message on the day of Pentecost when the Lord added to the church those been saved. Listen to a portion of His message, verse 22-
  • “Men of Israel, listen to these words; Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested  to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know- this Man  delivered over by the PREDETERMINED PLAN and FOREKNOWLEDGE OF GOD, You nailed to a cross by the hands of Godless men and put Him  to death. But God raised Him up again putting to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.”

According to Titus 1:2– on the basis of His great sacrifice God could then

“Promise Eternal Life, BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN” …

  • this marvelous redemption planned before the World began by the Triune God was thus “the hidden wisdom, which God Ordained BEFORE The World unto our glory” according to 1 Cor 2:7

 

  1. -GLORYING ;

John 17: 5- “He has Glory with the Father we are told “Before the world began”

 

  1. – UNIFIED-

  • John 17:21,23 “Jesus prayed that His followers would “BE ONE; EVEN as You are in Me and I in You…”… V 23”I IN THEM AND You in Me, that they may be perfected IN UNITY,

 

  1. – HE WAS GRACING US –INITIATING/ …SAVING US;

       “Thus it is God alone who “has saved us , and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN,” 2 Tim 1:9

 

What was God doing before the Creation of the Heavens and earth….we do not know all but we get a glimpse from His Word… and we can affirm He was ….Loving, Planning, Selecting, Writing, ordaining, Agreeing, Committing Glorying, Initiating all leading up to Him….
