The promise of “…all things working together for good…” is EXCLUSIVE. It is ONLY for those who “LOVE GOD.”

Who are they and Why do they LOVE GOD?

For we are all born, “helpless, ungodly, enemies, sinners ” of God Romans 5:6,8,10 teaches. Ephesians 2:1-2 says we are spiritually dead in our sins… “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),”-{Ephesians 2:4-5}

God first LOVED US that enabled us to love Him-{1 John 4:19}; Assures us that we are Loved by His Spirit;-{Rom 5:5}; Demonstrating it through the Cross of Christ-{Romans 5:8}; Empowering us to Love -{Galatians 5:22 }; Complying with His Word-{Romans 12:2};

WHO ARE THOSE WHO “LOVE GOD?”

What Are The Characteristics of “Those who LOVE GOD?”

Look Up each verse and note the word “LOVE” and what it says about those who “Love” Him and what He loves,…

  1. They LOVE the FATHER– {1 John 5:1} –“…everyone who loves the Father…”
  2. They LOVE His SON-{John 16:27} –“for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father.”
  3. They LOVE His WORD– {Psalm 119:97} –“How I love Your Law! It is my meditation all the day.”
  4. They LOVE His PEOPLE– {John 13:35}; -“By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.”  {It is manifested such as in An AFFECTIONATE LOVE- {1 Peter 1:22}; A SACRIFICIAL Love-{1 John 3:16-18}; A PURPOSEFUL; Love-{1 Corinthians 13:4-7} }
  5. Those who LOVE God HATE EVIL– because it offends Him –{Psalm 97:10}-“Hate evil, you who love the Lord,…”
  6. They LOVE His RETURN– {2 Timothy 4:8} –“in the future there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
  7. Expressing Love For God through PERSEVERING in Trials. -{James 1:12} –“Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”
  8. TRUSTING Him in Suffering Though They Have not seen Him-{1 Peter 1:6,8}
  9. OBEYING His Word– {John 14:21} –“ The one who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me;”
  10. THE PROMISE; “God causes ALL THINGS to Work Together for Good to those who LOVE GOD and are the called according to His Purpose.”

 

How about that? Isn’t that beautiful to see from His Word some of the characteristics of those who LOVE GOD.” It is a new life, new standing with God, initiated by God shedding His love abroad in our hearts, giving us newness of life, new ambitions, new desires, and new power. It is not perfect obedience for that will only happen when we get to heaven but it is a new AFFECTION and a NEW DIRECTION, And so dearly beloved He knows you Love Him as He knew Peter did despite his great failure, and as He does ours, but our acceptance is not based on our performance but the perfect, sinless, substitutionary performance of our LORD Jesus Christ for us.

Keep Loving God and be assured and rest that “God causes ALL Things to work together for Good to those who LOVE GOD…” and that dear friend is for you and me both now and forever!
