Though at times you have given up on Him. You’ve doubted, been disappointed, thrown in the towel because He has not responded or done what you thought He should do, and you have quit, thrown in the towel, and momentarily given up on Him. You can’t understand why He would not do what you thought He should have, and it has hurt. Confused you. And so the question “Why?” surfaces, and perhaps the unseen anger in your heart, the sense of betrayal though maybe not verbalized, the doubts as to whether He really can be trusted, taken at His Word come to mind and seek to take up residency within your heart of hearts. Perhaps in church, The songs sung around you perhaps are but vain echoes to you. “But God!” yes there is a “BUT GOD…” for you too!

Habakkuk in seeing what GOD was going to do did not at first understand why but he saw beyond his own understanding to treasure God and said “Even though…” Job too had his “But God…” moment when he declared in the midst of great suffering, “…though He slay me YET will I trust Him…” Jesus on the cross cried out “My God, My God why have You forsaken Me….” though He too in Gethsemane had said “Father Glorify Your Name…” There are times in our lives neither you, me, or others- though Job’s friends thought they were the exception to the rule in always understanding what God was doing in another’s life- and they didn’t- we don’t always understand why, but we are always called to TRUST Him in the midst of difficulties, darkened times, that though we walk in difficulties like the Psalmist we can be assured that we will walk THROUGH the valley of Difficulties, and though evil and fear be present we do not walk alone for the Shepherd will walk with us and will WALK us Through THEM ALL THE WAY TO THE FATHER’S HOUSE.

We are heading Home and the journey is not always easy. We have not been promised that. We have been PROMISED that there will be difficulties, and sorrows along the way, BUT WE HAVE BEEN PROMISED that Jesus has OVERCOME THE WORLD and He WILL never forsake, or abandon us for HE IS FAITHFUL… AND THOUGH FOR MOMENT WE DOUBT, WE ARE SORROWED BY OUR SORROWS, SOMETIMES BECAUSE WE misinterpret Scriptures or have listened to others who seem to have the ear of God and a “word FROM The LORD” … yet our journeys are tailored for us… and we are to “run the race set before us…. looking away to Jesus… the Author and Finisher of our faith… who for the Joy set before Him endured the cross… and now is seated in majesty on high… interceding for us…

There is no future or nourishment for our souls in looking and festering over disappointments but there is comfort, wisdom, and grace to look away to Jesus who mends the broken-hearted, who gives peace amidst the storms who supplies joy in the sorrows… in the end, as Peter said “You have the Word of life”- where else can we go.

  • God did not give up on Adam and Eve… He sought them out.
  • God did not give up on the children of Israel… on numerous occasions, He sought them out.
  • God did not give up on Jonah…He sought Him out…
  • God did not give up on Peter… He sought Him out…
  • And what makes you think that He will give up on you? Because He won’t!

No failure, no sin, no misinterpretation of His Word, and no wrong concept by you will cause Him to abandon His loving commitment to you! No chance! AND IT IS NOT BASED ON HOW YOU FEEL OR DON’T FEEL IT IS BASED ON THE INTEGRITY OF GOD HIMSELF! “SINCE GOD IS FOR YOU, WHO CAN BE AGAINST YOU. WHAT CAN SEPARATE YOU FROM THE LOVE OF GOD IN CHRIST? NOTHING OR NO ONE!

AND EVEN THOUGH OTHERS MAY HAVE GIVEN UP ON YOU… KNOW THIS. God has not given up on you and never will...

He WILL PURSUE YOU BY HIS SPIRIT, CIRCUMSTANCING YOUR LIFE, REMINDING YOU OF HIS WORD… And He always gets His man or woman: God has not given up on you as He did not give up on Adam and Eve, David, Jonah, and Peter, He HAS NOT AND WILL NOT GIVE UP ON YOU,

HE HAS INVESTED TOO MUCH IN YOU- THE LIFE OF HIS SON FOR YOU. AND HOW SHALL HE WHO DID NOT SPARE HIS ONLY SON NOT GIVE YOU…ALL YOU NEED IN EACH AND EVERY MOMENT, INCLUDING THOSE HARD DIFFICULT TEARFUL, SORROWFUL TIMES,

So today, you may have given up on Him, but be assured that He has not will not give up on you, for you are His “beloved!”

“I have loved you with an EVERLASTING LOVE…” -{Jeremiah 31:3}

” being confident of this, that He who began a GOOD WORK IN YOU will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”-{Phil 1:6}

TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS LOOK FULL IN HIS WONDERFUL FACE….” as revealed in His Word…-{Read 2 Cor 3:18}

God bless,

Aidan,
