HOPE FOR YOUR MIND;
And How You THINK- {How To Cultivate Hope In Your Life}.

In the midst of sorrow and devastation, Jeremiah calls the people to… HOPE in THE LORD. Hope, means to have “confident expectation” of Him and gives fuel for such hope by THINKING RIGHT about The LORD…He remembers the LORD, His character. Biblical “Hope” is “confident expectation…” in eternal realities, a certainty in God who He is and that what He says will happen. Note it begins with THINKING RIGHT about the LORD and His Character, and what he knows to be TRUE of Him…

“This I recall to my MIND,
Therefore I have HOPE.
The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
For His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“Therefore I have HOPE in Him”-{Lam 3:21-24}.

“THIS I RECALL TO MIND…. THEREFORE I HAVE…HOPE”

Note he was choosing in the midst of devastation, sorrow, and tears he CHOSE TO RECALL. He made the choice. You know what some days are like, THOUGHTS coming in and out of your mind, and sometimes we latch on to some THOUGHTS and tend to DWELL on them… going over them again and again and as though they begin to bear down into our mind, preoccupying and just like a car stuck in the mud spinning its wheels and unable to move…and with each spin of the tires making a deeper “rut,” tracks sinking down.

I was thinking earlier today of leaving out the word “Hope,” and replacing it, and filling in the sentence to mirror our thinking, emotions, and choices.

Think about what it is that you are constantly recalling in your mind? What is the end product? What is your thinking producing?

  • “This I Recall To Mind Therefore I Have… Fear.”

  • “This I Recall To My Mind Therefore I Have… Anxieties”

  • “This I Recall To My Mind Therefore I Have… Despair”

  • “This I Recall To My Mind Therefore I Have… Doubts”

  • “This I Recall To My Mind Therefore I Have… Bitterness”

  • “This I Recall To My Mind Therefore I Have… Anger”

  • “This I Recall To My Mind Therefore I Have… Resentment”

  • “This I Recall To My Mind Therefore I Have… Hopelessness.”

Is what you are Thinking upon producing Fear, anxiety, despair, doubts, diverting from the LORD, His work…or HOPE amidst the difficulties, and sorrows of life?

It is a battle for our thought life and we must choose who or what we give our thoughts continually too. Paul wrote “whatever is TRUE…let your MIND Dwell on these things…”-{Phil 4:8}.

Thinking on Truth and applying it transforms our thinking and produces HOPE in HIM! What you continually give your thoughts to influences your mind, emotions, and choices

FILL in The Blank, “This I Recall To Mind Therefore I Have______” What you choose to continue to THINK on will Show up in your emotions, choices, and living!

Do you see that? There is a verse in Proverbs that says, “As Man Thinks, So Is he.”- {Proverbs 23 :7}. How easy for dear Jeremiah to be overcome but he overcomes with “This I RECALL TO MIND…” and as a result of what he RECALLS to MIND… the Result? HOPE! How does he do this? Because of WHOM he thought of and what about Him RESULTED IN HOPE and Confident expectation in the certainty of God, His character, and deeds!

We need the HOLY SPIRIT to help remind us and one way is we “let the WORD OF CHRIST DWELL in you Richly.”-{ Col 3:16}. We RENEW our MINDS in and with His WORD-{Romans 12:2}. And the WORD gives the SPIRIT of GOD “Fuel” to bring back to our remembrance. Phil 4:8 “Whatever is TRUE… DWELL on these things!” THINK on Truth. TRAIN your Mind to DWELL in the Word… in-between moments where you have to concentrate on something like work, a school project, etc.…let it turn back quickly and often to considering Him and His Word!- { Read Psalm 1:2}

     1.- “I RECALL TO MY MIND… THE LORD…THEREFORE I HAVE HOPE…

  1. – “I RECALL TO MY MIND… THE LORD’S… LOVINGKINDNESS THEREFORE I HAVE HOPE…

    The word speaks of “GREAT LOVE.”

  2. -“I RECALL TO MY MIND… THE LORD’S COMPASSION…THEREFORE I HAVE HOPE…

    “The word speaks of His “MERCIES.”

      4.- “I RECALL TO MY MIND… THE LORD’S …FAITHFULNESS…THEREFORE I HAVE HOPE…
The word speaks of “PERMANENCE, RELIABILITY.”

  1. -“I RECALL TO MY MIND… THE LORD IS MY PORTION…THEREFORE I HAVE HOPE…IN…HIM!
    His SATISFACTION is in the personal relationship he has with the LORD,… “MY Portion.”

  • Despair focuses on the difficulties as insurmountable… Hope focuses on THE LORD Who He is and WHAT He is and finds HOPE in HIM…and it begins with THINKING right about Him.

Think about what it is that you are constantly recalling to your MIND? What is the end product? What is your THINKING producing? Fear, anxieties, despair, doubts, diverting from the LORD, His work…or HOPE amidst the difficulties, and sorrows of life?

CHOOSE Whom and What you continually THINK ON TODAY… In Order to Have HOPE in the LORD.

Take the verses in Lamentations 3:21- 24 write them out and place them somewhere you can see, maybe a bathroom mirror and as you brush your teeth, look at each word, phrase and if you did this daily for a month you would have read it a multitude of times you will have memorized it and the Holy Spirit CAN bring back to your mind TRUTH that TRANSFORMS and Produces HOPE in The LORD.

“This I Recall To My Mind….” What is it you RECALL to Mind?

  • RECOGNIZE the thoughts that lead you away from Him and leave you with self or the circumstances and not Him.

  • REPLACE the thoughts with TRUTH and…

  • REPLAY, again and again, the TRUTH in Your MIND…”This I recall to My mind, Therefore I have… hope.”

PRAYER FOR HOPE; My prayer for you, and one you can pray for yourself and perhaps pray for three other people, substituting their name with the word “you” in the verse is Romans 15:13- “Now may the GOD OF HOPE fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will ABOUND IN HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit. ”

“This I recall to My MIND, Therefore I have… HOPE.”

MAY the LORD Fill you with HOPE… and He uses HIS SPIRIT to Remind, Strengthen us through HIS Word… with HOPE!-{Read Romans 15:13}
