“WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS…”
“But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”-(Romans 5:8)
“While we were still sinners…” He did not wait until somehow we could make ourselves acceptable, clean up our act -(which is impossible) but it is “while we were still sinners” in the state of rebellion against Him, The LORD Jesus Christ chose to die to pay the penalty for our sins to reconcile us to God!
“While we were still sinners…”. God proved His love for us… for you… ” while we were still sinners…” amazing love!
He didn’t wait for us to change before He loved us but in the depravity of our sin He chose to love us. He initiated, not based on our affection, or love for Him- which we had none. No desire for Him, not seeking after Him. None of us doing right by God, Rather we were helpless, ungodly, sinners, enemies, according to Romans 5. Spiritually dead in our sins -( Ephesians 2:1-3). “But God…”
NOTE; the verse shows us God in action!
God Clearly Shows us His love.
God Proves His love for us.
How?
By the FACT, while we were still sinners CHRIST DIED FOR US!
