WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF “RECONCILIATION?” -{Romans 5:11}
God gives you… HIMSELF… that you might “Exult in Him!”
“EXULT” means, A TRIUMPHANT CONFIDENT BOAST, GREATLY REJOICING, Delighting. .Why? Because we have “RECEIVED the Reconciliation.” Grammatically it means it is a completed event in the past- a historical event.God has done this! It is also in the “passive voice” which means it is something done outside of us by someone else, in this case GOD! It is not something we have done but something God has done for us! -{v10}. How wonderful… GOD DID THIS…OFFERING US…HIMSELF!
“Received the Reconciliation”-{v11}. GOD OFFERED us HIMSELF, FRIENDSHIP with God…We don’t earn Reconciliation, we “receive” this, By God’s doing, His generosity to us through the work of our LORD Jesus Christ. No longer enemies but His friendship extended, peace with Him. Himself He offers and ours to receive, embrace Him! The word “Reconciliation” speaks of “Exchange” and God has exchanged hostility, rejection to one of acceptance, friendship. God has done this in love. His standards, righteousness, holiness, wrath satisfied through our LORD Jesus. That which separated us, our sin, His Son has taken care of for us, and we now have been extended God Himself. The loving, loyal, unbreakable, unchanging Friendship of God extended to you for all eternity! What love, what grace. God Himself extending Himself to you! His Hand and heart in Friendship to you.Think on that!
God gives you Himself, and in Him there is Salvation, Eternal Security, Satisfaction, Companionship, Friendship and a Secure Future, a glorious future with HIM.-{Read Rom 5:2}. My end will not be the coldness of a grave but the eternal warmth of the LOVE of God HIMSELF, our Goal and God Himself our destination. A Child in the back of a car on long journey may interrupt with the question, “Are we nearly there yet?” and ask persistently… they want to get there… the end of the destination their DESIRE and GOAL… How greater we His children groan for the Unveiling of Himself … Some of us are closer to being there than when we first began to read this…. and in one glorious moment we will see HIM! And in light of this glorious God what should be our response as we remain on this earth, whatever our circumstances…
THE RESPONSE? That we might “Exult” in Him! “EXULT,” means to BOAST,GLORY in continual Confident Rejoicing in …GOD HIMSELF!…This is How you and me are to respond,” Joyful Confidence, Continuously Boasting, Greatly Rejoicing in God Himself!“
HOW DOES THIS “RECONCILIATION” COME ABOUT? “…THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.”
A. -He PURCHASED our Reconciliation through the Death of our LORD Jesus Christ- {v10}.
B. -He ENABLES us to RECEIVE the Reconciliation through our LORD Jesus Christ- {v11}.
C. -We EXULT in God through our LORD Jesus Christ,-{v11}
KEEP EXULTING, BOASTING,IN CONFIDENCE, GREATLY REJOICING.... IN GOD HIMSELF…We look at His character as revealed in His Word. Jesus says,”…He who has seen Me has seen the Father…”-{John 14:9}. So as we look to Him we see what the Father is like. And where do we look? Jesus in Luke 24 :27 says, “Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.”
God has given us Himself… that we might “EXULT in GOD.” Keep looking in the Scriptures for Him, His character, and find and fuel your faith with reasons to continually and confidently rejoice, boast, exult in God Himself!
*- We Greatly Rejoice, Exult in FUTURE HOPE-{Rom 5:2}
* – We Greatly Rejoice, Exult because WE KNOW what God is producing in our “Sufferings… Tribulations”-{v 3-4}
* – We Greatly Rejoice, Exult in GOD HIMSELF!-{v 11}
ASSIGNMENT; SOME THOUGHTS TO HELP
1.What Truth about God can your Continually THINK on TODAY to fuel your faith, focus your thinking to influence your living so you can EXULT IN God Himself?
2. TAKE SOME TIME AND MAYBE WITH PEN AND PAPER, WRITE DOWN SIX TRUTHS YOU KNOW ABOUT GOD AND VERSES TO BACK IT UP SO YOU KNOW IT IS TRUE AS REASONS FOR YOU TO BOAST, EXULT IN HIM
3. When you read the Word, NOTE what does the passage, verse, chapter teach SPECIFICALLY about God. STOP AND PAUSE And use as fuel for EXULTING in God. For example if you were to read Romans 5, what does IT TEACH about God ? What can you take away from this chapter to fuel your faith to EXULT GOD ? Or take Philippians Read and Note what does Chapter 1 Reveal about God as fuel for you to EXULT Him. Do the same for chapter 2, 3, 4… and as you look back over each chapter you should have gathered some truth of His character as fuel for you to THINK on, TRUST Him and EXULT HIM for HIMSELF!
God has given Himself to you and you may and “we” may together collectively EXULT {Consistently and confidently, Triumphantly Boast, Greatly Rejoice} in HIM
Here’s a good Passage to read and give reason why we will never be condemned, [Rom 8:1} “For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us,”-{Romans 8:3-4} “GOD DID IT!” God Reconciled you to Himself. EXULT, GLORY, BOAST IN HIM! –😀
“We also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.”-{Rom 5:11}.
