At times a Christian can doubt their salvation and be tormented …and need to be reminded… that …
God Saves, God Sustains!
He didn’t trust you with securing your salvation, He trusted His Son,…so you can too!
God Saves completely and eternally, God Sustains, and God completes His saving work! REST in Him and His Word for you. Consider Jesus and His full salvation for you … Peter says of our salvation that we are “Kept by the power of GOD.”-(1 Peter 1:5). It’s a military term and means to “ Guard, Protect.” Who does the guarding, protecting, and keeping of your soul? You? No! GOD DOES… that’s great news! That’s God’s promise of eternal protection and guarding. He has never lost a soul and He will not lose you either! “…And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.”-(Matthew 10:28-29)
“Therefore He is able also to save forever (completely, perfectly, for eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede and intervene on their behalf [with God].”-(Hebrews 7:25 Amplified Bible)
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”-( Romans 8:1-4)
“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”-(2 Corinthians 5:21)
“But it is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God [revealing His plan of salvation], and righteousness [making us acceptable to God], and sanctification [making us holy and setting us apart for God], and redemption [providing our ransom from the penalty for sin],”-(1 Cor 1:30 Amplified Bible.)
“Therefore, since we have been justified [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God] by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed). 2 Through Him we also have access by faith into this [remarkable state of] grace in which we [firmly and safely and securely] stand. Let us rejoice in our [a]hope and the confident assurance of [experiencing and enjoying] the glory of [our great] God [the manifestation of His excellence and power].”-(Romans 5:1-2 Amplified Bible)
“…And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, FIXING OUR EYES ON JESUS, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. CONSIDER HIM who endured such opposition from sinners, SO THAT you will not grow weary and lose heart.”-(Hebrews 12:1-3)
The evil one will seek to Tempt you to turn INWARD and Downward to Despair. Looking to self. The Holy Spirit has you look UPWARD to Christ and AWAY from Self to the Savior! His perfection, not yours. Are you looking INWARD or UPWARD? His Word is your means to establish and strengthen your faith in Him!
“ I write these things to you who BELIEVE in the name of the Son of God SO THAT you may KNOW that YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.”-(1 John 5:13)
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” -(Phil 1:6 nlt)
God bless,
