Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But HE said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”-{2 Cor 12:8-9}

There are times when we do not know what to pray,-{Read Rom 8:26} or at times we are praying but do not know what God is doing in a situation, as for example, Paul prayed for the painful “thorn” to be removed…God didn’t, because that was not His will for Paul! Paul didn’t get the answer He wanted but…He got God’s answer and God’s will was done in the situation! -{Read 2 Cor 12:7}

And his response was not one of “Why?” But to “Glory” indeed “Boast” in what God was doing.

The LORD kindly showed him the…

1.- REASON For the “Thorn;” “Because of the extraordinary greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me—to keep me from exalting myself!”-{v 7}.

2.- RESOURCES For the “Thorn;”“…And He has said to me, “My GRACE is sufficient for you, for POWER is perfected in weakness.”-{v8}. Instead of deliverance “from,” Paul would receive the LORD’S RESOURCES of Grace and Power to sustain him “in” and to spiritually prosper and countless others as a result of his painful “Thorn,” and seeing how God met him and indeed has met you also in the past if you think about it and He will continue to meet you! Count on HIM! We see Paul’s…

3.- RESPONSE To The LORD’S Provision In The “Thorn;” “Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in distresses, in persecutions, in difficulties, in behalf of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Paul saw in his weakness the provision of the LORD’S provision of Himself, His grace and power of God unleashed, and He gloried, and boasted, rejoiced in God and His answer and provision in his painful “thorn,” for his need!-{2 Cor 12:7-10}-

You or I may not always understand the specific REASON of “Why?” of the particular struggle, difficulty, or “thorn,” of what we are going through but we can be assured we will always have His Sufficient RESOURCES and by His Grace the ability in light of that knowledge and the power of the residing Holy Spirit within to empower us to choose to RESPOND in a way that honors Him

  • You May Not Get The Answer You Desire But You Will Get God’s Provision For His Purpose For You!

Our Prayers Are not Always Answered The Way We Want But Always The Way He Wants!

God bless,

Aidan
