4 REASONS NOT TO BE AFRAID;-(Luke 12:4-7)

There are good healthy fears such as the fear of placing your hand in a fire because of the consequence of getting burned or trying to walk or allow a toddler to cross a busy highway with cars flying. You know you will get hit. That’s reason why you don’t do it because of the potential devastating consequences. But there are some fears that are irrational, emotionally, and spiritually unhealthy…

The Word Jesus uses for “Fear” is “phobos” which means “to put to flight, terrify, Frighten.”

Jesus gives Four reasons why His disciples need not be afraid

1.- Don’t Fear Dying;

Jesus tells His disciples even when someone wants to kill them not to be terrified, for the worst they can do is end their temporal life but not their eternal life, which they cannot touch! That all they can do to you is kill your body but can’t touch your soul. They can’t determine your eternal destination. – “Now I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed someone, has the power to throw that person into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him! “- {v4-5}

2.- Don’t Be Afraid- God Has NOT Forgotten you.

“Are five sparrows not sold for two assaria? And yet not one of them has gone unnoticed in the sight of God”-{v6}

3.- Don’t Be Afraid- God is Intimately ACQUAINTED with you.

“…But even the hairs of your head are all counted.”-{v7}

4.- Don’t Be Afraid – God VALUES you –

“Do not fear; you are more valuable than a great number of sparrows.”-{v7}

FOCUS YOUR MIND CONTINUALLY ON WHAT GOD SAYS…MEDITATE UPON THE TRUTH, WHICH IS…

  • God has taken care of your eternal destination.
  • God had not forgotten you.
  • God Is Intimately Acquainted with you.
  • God Values you…
Focus your mind on TRUTH, What God says. Re-read the verses above. Pick one and commit to memory, read, reread, write it outand carry with it so you can read and memorize, meditate, and the Spirit of God cn remind you when you need it for yourself or to help OTHERS. Pray TO BE REMINDED ofwhat God says.
