• DAILY READING FROM THE GOSPEL OF LUKE -DAY 2 – Chapter 2

Day 2 of reading A CHAPTER A DAY of the 24 chapters between now and Christmas Eve from the Book of Luke.

Chapter 2 from the book of Luke – Here is my Outline

Observations;

1.- The Birth of Christ – verses 1-7

2.- The Shepherds led to Christ – Verses 8-20

3.- The Shepherds Testifying concerning Christ. Verses 17-18

4.- The Angels singing the praise of God- verses 8-20

5.- The Presentation of Jesus Christ at the Temple- verses 21-24

6.- Simeon seeing Christ -verses 25-33

7.- Simeon Testimony to Mary concerning the ministry of Jesus- verses 34-35

8.- Anna The Widow Witnessing Of Christ – verses 36-38

9.- The Growth of the child Jesus – verses 39- 40

10.- Jesus in the Temple doing the Father’s will – verses 41-51

11.- The Growth of the child Jesus – intellectually- physically- spiritually- socially – verses 52

Shepherds were looked down on and despised in society but not by God who sent an angel to lead those who were lowly, despised in society to be the ones to be led to Christ! As Paul would later testify -“Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.”-( 1 Cor 1:26-30).

There are none too low that Christ does not seek out to save, rescue, and deliver from the penalty of sin to the safe harbor of His love!

Observation;

1.- THE HUMILITY OF CHRIST in leaving Heaven to come to earth as a vulnerable baby…to stoop to come into a sinful world to rescue a world in need of Him!

2.- THE PURPOSE OF CHRIST – “SAVIOR” to save us.

3. -THE TESTIMONY TO CHRIST.The Birth of Christ testified to by people and angels- the Savior has come and is born- Jesus Christ!

4.- ENCOMPASSING OF HIS COMING; NONE TOO LOW FOR CHRIST. There are none too low, so humanly despised that Christ does not care for to seek out to rescue from living in spiritual darkness to guide into peace-(Luke 1:78-79)

He Came for you. His purpose to save you. None too far gone or too low for Him- including you and me! To those who know Him be thankful to those who have shared Him with you. Go do likewise!
