PROVIDENCE;

Providence means that the hand of God is in the glove of human events.

{Dr. J. Vernon McGee}

MOSES AND THE PROVIDENCE OF GOD;

Providence, what a beautiful awe inspiring word for the child of God. A word full of hope, assurance, that can strengthen us in our trying times, that can fuel hope to look forward in anticipation to comfort us and light the fire of faith that brings rest to our at times frayed nerves and tired and weary mind. A Word that inspires confidence, hope and fuel for praise, thanksgiving and worship to GOD. For this word is about God, it points to Him and speaks of Him and boasts in Him.

” Now a man from the house of Levi went and married a daughter of Levi.  The woman conceived and bore a son; and when she saw that he was beautiful, she hid him for three months.  But when she could hide him no longer, she got him a wicker basket and covered it over with tar and pitch. Then she put the child into it and set it among the reeds by the bank of the Nile.  His sister stood at a distance to find out what would happen to him.

 The daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the Nile, with her maidens walking alongside the Nile; and she saw the basket among the reeds and sent her maid, and she brought it to her When she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the  boy was crying. And she had pity on him and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.” Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and call  a nurse for you from the Hebrew women that she may nurse the child for you?”  Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go ahead.” So the girl went and called the child’s mother.  Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him.  The child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. And she named him Moses, and said, “Because I drew him out of the water.” – {Exodus 2;1-10}.

God is in the details!

He raised up Moses to deliver His people from the bondage of Egypt. He Providentially arranged for Pharaoh’s daughter to be by the river, see the baby in the basket and raise the child as her own and arranged for the baby’s mother unknown to pharaoh’s daughter, to take care of the child. Was this by chance or choice?

The new Pharaoh had put out an edict that all Hebrew infants should be killed. But the faith of Moses parents which God commends in Hebrews 11 was that by chance the courage they showed or by choice? Was God in control of the pregnancy? Was He in control of his parents…?

Was it by chance or choice the baby was put in the basket at the time Pharaoh’s daughter just happened to be there and she had a desire for the baby? Was it by chance or by choice that Moses sister watched to see what would happen to the baby and ended up speaking to Pharaoh’s daughter asking if she would like a nurse for the baby, and Pharaoh’s daughter agreed and his sister called for his mom to nurse and care for him. Was that by chance or choice of the LORD?

Was it by chance Moses grew up and made a choice to rather suffer with God’s people than be associated with Egypt? Was it by chance or by choice that Moses was raised up to deliver God’s people from the power of Pharaoh? Or was God in control all along? God is in the details of daily living, bringing bout His ultimate goal!

“By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.

By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible. By faith he kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.”- {Heb 11:23-28}.

Moses and his parents had this in common, they did not fear the king. Neither his edict or his anger. Fearless amidst conflict of an evil foe. God ruled and overruled and was working His providence, orchestrating events, lives, all for the further and future good of His people, His fame!

Moses “regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger;” How did Moses know? By chance or God involved.

God planing for the future and God providing for that future, NOT by chance but by Choice, all under His control!

On a personal level Providence is God orchestrating events, people, moving them, having their paths cross, circumstancing events, people, all to provide for your need and that is marvelous hope and His glory, fame ultimately, that all will know He is the LORD!

Were the lives of Moses and his parents one of chance or choice? The choice of God intimately, personally involved in their hearts, lives, circumstances all to His glorious end, which people for countless years would hear and read of His greatness. His Providential, loving care and control!

Was it just by chance Moses was preserved at birth? Or by Choice- His choice!

YOU!

Your life is not a chance, luck, happenstance “But God…” is in control… as you look back you can often see His Hand… working circumstancing, life, to arrange circumstances, people to bring about you hearing His Gospel and being gloriously saved. God raised up a man a woman or many to share with you over time.

Was that by chance or by His Choice?

And even now through many trials, difficulties and at times when you cannot make sense, stop! Trust Him who began a good work in you who will complete it. He is working all things together for good and will culminate seeing Him face to face and in His presence forever and ever to worship, thank Glory in Him and enjoy Him and revel in His kindness for all eternity. Will that be by chance of by His choice?

We may not always understand why but we know there is a bigger picture, His Picture! And He is working it all out for good…so for now trust though at times through tears… He has not forgotten you and is working… Ask Him to help you trace His loving verse for you in the past to strengthen your faith for the present and the journey as you head ultimately to a meeting of Him at the FATHER’S House!

My life nor is yours one of chance but by choice all under His control, who rules and reigns supreme!

” Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Ascribe  to the LORD the glory due His name;bring an offering and enter His courts. Worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness; tremble before Him, all the earth.”-{Psalm 96:6-8}

The Best is Yet To Come,

Not By Chance But By Choice…

Because of Him who Controls all!:)
