Drink deep of the reservoir of His provision , for it is endless, boundless and deep deep love. We don’t have to understand, ” why?” But only to rest in Him, knowing He is good and a Friend who sticks closer than a brother. Loyal love is He.. It is often in the furnace where God makes and meets His people in developing and displaying Himself as the three Hebrew youths in the fire found out. Or the disciples in the storm at sea would come to know … Stephen being stoned , who saw The Lord …Or Paul crying out for the “thorn” to be removed and being refused that request emphatically. Or John on the idle of Patmos. Or Jesus in Gethsemene … All faced their own difficulties … All endured as seeing Him…
It is often in the crucible we see Him by faith experiencing His comfort ( read 2 Cor 1:3) and He commissions and equips us to pass on that comfort to others who are afflicted ( v4)….the ministry of Comfort to the crushed!
