BEFORE YOU THROW AWAY THOSE CHRISTMAS CARDS,…

CONSIDER THIS…

CHRISTMAS CARDS AND …PRAYER!

I have a friend who told me years ago that at supper time his family has a bowl with Christmas Cards they received the previous year in it. They take one card out daily and pray for the person or family who sent it. And do this nightly! What a great reminder to pray for people. A great way of teaching kids and teens to pray. This a great reminder to teach adults and also a practical way to pray without ceasing!

Think of it, you get to pray for people nightly you may not do otherwise, and you are forming a habit of praying. Praying irrespective of the day, season, weather, circumstances, feelings… you are Praying.

And what if you just have a few Cards. Great! You get to lift them up more frequently during the week, and if you do so, then look how many times they get lifted up to the Throne of Grace a year by you… to Him…

1.- HE LISTENS Attentively To Your Prayers

“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are ATTENTIVE to their prayer,”-{ Read 1 Peter 3:12}

2.- HE REWARDS

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, WILL REWARD YOU.”-{Read Matt 6:6}

3.- HE ANSWERS According To His Will

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.”-{1 John 5:14-15}

WHAT ENCOURAGEMENT!

* He Listens

* He Rewards

* He Answers!

This is just a way to perhaps Consider using those Christmas cards before you throw them out.

  • It doesn’t have to be at mealtime. You could put them on a table by your bed and nightly pull a card out of a bowl and pray for a family, person…
  • Put them in a place where you will see them and use them to lift people before the Throne of Grace.-{Read Heb 4:15-16}

LORD Willing, I am planning to put ours by my bedside as an aid to help me in developing my prayer life for…OTHERS and…HIS HONOR!

God bless

Aidan.
