His delight is in the Law of the LORD and in it he meditates day and night”- {Psalm 1:2}

My heart’s desire is that we become Ezra 7:10 people. People who take the Word in to- Know Him- Obey Him- Share His Word, and in that order!

STRUGGLE IN MEMORY WORK? One thing I noticed from some who struggle is, that it seems the “busier” life  becomes, the thinking is they don’t have time. I would think that is the time to hide and meditate upon His Word. If we wait for the ideal time, life will pass us by. I think as one man wrote to me shared, what has helped him is the writing out on a 3 by 5 card the verse and carrying it with him to look at as he has “free” time. So in those moments when you have some “free time,” take it out, look at it, think on it phrase by phrase and meditate upon it and allow the Holy Spirit to renew your way of thinking and viewing life from His perspective. Have your mind “renewed” and to “think on things above”-{Col 3:1-3.}  If you are walking between classes, or a break in work, washing the dishes, place  the verse  before you. Put His Word in prominent places so you can see His Word, read it, memorized, meditate and apply it. For example if you wrote it out on a 3 by 5 card and put on your bathroom mirror, Every morning and evening when you brush your teeth you can look at it word for word, phrase by phrase and if you did that twice a day for a month you would have read it approx 60 times and before you know it you have memorized it and it gives the Holy Spirit ammunition of His Word to minister to and ultimately through you, when it needs to be called on to remind you or for you to help others! You never memorize just for you!

The purpose of our mind is ultimately “Love the Lord your God with all your…mind”-{Read Luke 10:27}.

DON’T ALLOW YOURSELF AND OTHERS TO BE ROBBED! Keep going, If you have memorized one verse more than last year- that is wonderful. You are ahead… so where ever you are, I want you to be encouraged to keep going… if there are any verses from these daily devotionals you want to, pick one to think on in order to do and share, then take one and do so.

I had a lovely conversation today with a dear believer here in Ireland and we spoke about the LORD’S Word on, “above all He has EXALTED His Name{which speaks of His character} and His Word” and if you watch closely the attack is to replace what God elevates. To RelegateHis character and Word to something inferior by exalting something else.

THE FIGHT – Our memory work is to know Him, His ways and to obey Him and share Him with others. It is a Fight! – a Fight against self- a fight against the world system that says HIS CHARACTER, HIS WORD are not important. It is a Fight against an unseen foe, who bombards our mind at times with evil thoughts or fear, anxiety or to doubt God’s Goodness. It is a Fight against apathy. It is a Fight FOR the benefit of others!  We are always talking, giving our opinions aren’t we. yet what people do not need is our opinions but what He says in order to meet the need of their heart! We need for them to hear and see His view on a subject. It is a fight of faith, it is a choice to make over “feelings,” to focus so as to know Him and His will and ways, as revealed in His Word. The verse from Prov 12:25 on anxiety is one the LORD has used with me and then Psalm 34:6 “In my desperation I prayed and the LORD LISTENED and delivered me from all my troubles.” What verses is He using in your life?

4 QUESTIONS FOR YOU;

  1. – WHAT VERSE…or VERSES has He encouraged, met you with?
  2. -CAN YOU SHARE HOW YOU HAVE SHARED WITH OTHERS AND WHAT HE HAS DONE?
  3. -CAN YOU SHARE WHAT HAS WORKED FOR YOU IN MEMORIZING?
  4. – WHAT IS THE BIGGEST OBSTACLE YOU ENCOUNTER TO MEMORIZE?

We can answer the 4 above questions to encourage one another… both with the struggles but also the thinking and transforming power of His Word!
