LIES WE OFTEN – CHOOSE- TO BELIEVE ABOUT GOD in our TRIALS.
It is easy to say “we choose’ but I wanted to personalize it as you read and see if you have embraced any of the lies… sometimes when we personalize it, it can help us detect and choose to reject the lies by replacing it with TRUTH… Hope this helps and encourages you…
1.- I CHOOSE – to believe IF GOD LOVED ME He WOULDN’T LET THIS HAPPEN TO ME!
2. –I Choose – to believe He CANNOT BE TRUSTED.
3. – I CHOOSE – to believe He will not HONOR HIS WORD to us. For Others maybe, but not me.
4. – I CHOOSE- to believe He DOES NOT CARE About Me.
5. – I CHOOSE – to believe the lie that I have so sinned, so messed up that I am “not worthy,” of HIS HELP or Forgiveness! {Indeed our only “worthiness” is always based on the “worthiness” of Jesus Christ, His righteousness on our behalf.}
6. – I CHOOSE – to believe God Has FORGOTTEN and ABANDONED Me. -{Read Psalm 13:1-2}
7. – I CHOOSE – To Believe God Is Angry with us and is PUNISHING Me!
8. – I CHOOSE – to believe I am SELF- SUFFICIENT!
* WHY DO WE BELIEVE THESE LIES?
Because we “CHOOSE” to!
TWO PRONG ATTACK WITH THESE LIES ARE…1.- All These LIES are an ATTACK ON THE CHARACTER of God2. – and to CHOOSE to Embrace them is an attack on you Loving God with all your MIND!
HOW DO WE COMBAT THESE LIES?
Take the thought captive and examine it in the Scriptures. Does it Honor God? Is it True of me “In Christ?” What Does the Word say?
Recognize The Lie;
Replace The Lie With Truth
Renewing Your Mind with Truth
Repeat!
” CONTINUE IN THE WORD AND YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH AND THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE” -{John 8:31-32}
“RENEW YOUR MIND…”{Rom 12:2}
“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must DO what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.”-{James 1:22}
“Whatever is TRUE…let your MIND, DWELL on it”-{Phil 4:8} Read Philippians 4:8 and note the Six “WHATEVER’S” that are some of the things we are to CHOOSE to Train Our Mind’s to THINK on… Psalm 1:2 we are to “Delight in His Word and Meditate upon it DAY and NIGHT!”
God is not out to Destroy you but to Develop you and Display Himself to you!
SOME TRUTHS & BENEFITS OF TRIALS;
TRIALS Are OPPORTUNITIES, when Handled Correctly according To His Word Produce MATURITY – “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”-{James 1:2-4}
TRIALS Are OPPORTUNITIES To GROW WISE –“…If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. “- {James 1:5}
TRIAL S Are OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPRESS LOVE TO HIM – “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”-{James 1:12}
TRIALS ARE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN TO DISTRUST SELF AND TRUST GOD! – “Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. “- {2 Cor 1:9}
TRIALS AFFORD US OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPERIENCE GOD’S COMFORT – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction,…”-{2 Cor 1:3}
TRIALS AFFORD US OPPORTUNITIES TO BE MINISTERS OF COMFORT TO OTHERS WHO ARE IN TRIALS – “…SO THAT we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. “- {2 Cor 1:4}
