“LOOKING AWAY TO JESUS….”– {Hebrews 12:2}

“Looking Away To Jesus- when you don’t know what to do, otherwise the temptation to yield to anxiety heightens. How do you look away? Luke 24:27 Jesus having been raised from the dead sought out two despondent followers and opening their mind to understand the Scriptures said,”Beginning with Moses and the prophets He revealed HIMSELF in ALL the Scriptures.” Looking Away to Jesus in and through His Word! Look at what it says about Him-He is Affectionate, Cares for you. He loves you, He is able to make all grace abound towards you. He is able to work all things together for good because you love Him. When you don’t know what to do- CHOOSE  to look away to Jesus.

In the Old Testament,  Moses told the people who were being bitten by poisonous snakes to look away to the bronze serpent that was lifted up. It took faith in what they had heard him say to look away. To all who obeyed they lived. So we too must look away to Jesus not only for salvation but daily wisdom, peace of heart and mind, hope, strength to serve, sustaining grace amidst many difficulties. Hebrews says “consider Jesus”- Not a fleeting or quick glance, but a contemplation, fixed, on Who He is, what He says, what He has done, is doing, will do. His promises, His character, His precious blood, His resurrection, His ascension, His coronation. His coming again. Contemplate Jesus Christ who is Lord.

Take one verse and THINK – THINK – THINK about each word it says concerning Him and in doing so and applying His Word, He is honored and instead of being problem occupied you become Person occupied. Jesus becomes your preoccupation in the problem. He becomes larger, sufficient, sustaining, saving, satisfying and your security! Look- AWAY- to Jesus.

When you “feel” you don’t know what to do- speak the truth to yourself- You DO KNOW WHAT TO DO- Look away and Keep Looking Away to Jesus!
