CHOOSE TO BE A GOD MOTIVATED, “DO GOODER!”

 The way we treat Others is in EXACT PROPORTION TO THE WAY WE THINK OF AND TREAT… THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!

Everyone we know or have seen appear to “do good,” things, kind things, helpful things, that countless have benefited from down through the ages, but what is it that defines a “good deed” from God’s perspective?

There are three truths to consider;

1.- It is for the benefit of another, not their harm -{Gal 6:9-10}

2.- It is to be done in love.{1 Cor 16:14};

3. -It is to be done with the intent of God being glorified.-{Matt 5:14-16.}

We are a different people we are to be God’s DO GOODER’S! In the past days I have had some people contact me who are in extreme stressful situations, who needed help. I contacted a few people and some sacrificially entered into the situation and owned it as their own and acted and took the opportunity to “DO GOOD,” and with it “thanksgiving,” was offered and we know that when a need is met, and “many thanksgiving is offered to God,” that God is Glorified!  Paul testified of those who were in poverty but  begged it says, “for the PRIVILEGE,” to participate in the helping of those in need, and it says was the evidence of “the surpassing grace of God at work IN them. Grace is not some abstract thing that has no effect on a life. It is not merely we are “saved,” and it has no effect on a life, saving grace has an effect and transforms a life form the inside out that seeks the benefit of others, for the Glory of God. Paul wrote,  “For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God. 13 Because of the proof given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all, 14 while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you.”-{2 Cor 9:12-14}.s and

Let us remind ourselves and stimulate ourselves and one another with His Word and heart for us …

  1. – “DO NOT withhold GOOD from those to whom it is due, When it is in your power to do it. Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give it,” When you have it with you.…” -{Prov 3:27-28}…
  1. – “If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, “-{Gal 2:15-17}
  1. – “Let us not lose heart in DOING GOOD, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. SO then,while we have OPPORTUNITY, let us DO GOOD to ALL people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.”-{Gal 6:9-10}
  1. – “Our people must LEARN TO DO GOOD by meeting the urgent needs of others; then they will not be unproductive.”-{Titus 3:14}
  1. – “Christ Jesus…He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to DOING GOOD DEEDS.”-{Titus 2:13-14}

The Motivation and Purpose of DOING GOOD?

  1. – “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way,let your GOOD DEEDS shine out for ALL to see,SO THAT everyone will praise {GLORIFY} your heavenly Father.“- {Matt 5:14-16}

WHAT MAKES SOMETHING “GOOD” FROM GOD’S PERSPECTIVE?

*It is for the benefit of another, not their harm -” SO then,while we have OPPORTUNITY, let us DO GOOD to ALL people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.” -{Gal 6:9-10}

* It must be done in LOVE – ” Let ALL that you DO Be DONE in LOVE”-{1 Cor 16;14}

* It must be done for the GLORY of God- “….that men may SEE your GOOD WORKS and GLORIFY your Father in Heaven.”-{Matt 5:14-16}

 WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR  YOUR “GOOD?”-

“ALL People, especially those of the household of faith.”- {Gal 6:9-10}

WHY DO “GOOD?”

“that people would SEE your GOOD WORKS and GLORIFY your Heavenly Father in Heaven.”- {Matt 5:16}

WHAT IS ONE REASON BELIEVERS ARE TO GET TOGETHER FOR?

“let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and GOOD DEEDS ” -{Heb 10:24}. When we get together we are to do so with a purpose and one being how we can stimulate one another how and what to DO GOOD.

We don’t “DO GOOD” to be accepted by God for we are saved by Grace through faith and that not of ourselves it is the gift of God – {Eph 2:8-9}. But out of loving appreciation we have our hearts to change and begin to look out for  the welfare of others, for His glory and DO Good from love for His glory

YOU WERE MADE TO – DO GOOD!

“For we are His workmanship, CREATED in Christ Jesus FOR GOOD WORKS, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”-{Eph 2:10}

Look To Do GOOD, what is BENEFICIAL to someone today, while you have opportunity…so that others may see your good works and it testifies to them and Glorifies our Heavenly Father. Others needs are an opportunity for you to DEMONSTRATE A GOOD DEED, For His glory and evidence you are His…

Who can be a recipient of your loving GOOD WORK today?

Who can you stimulate to love and GOOD DEEDS?

DO YOU WANT TO SEE GOD GLORIFIED? Then “DO GOOD!” Find someone in a need and Do a good deed, for His glory. It is not a matter of lack of opportunity but at times a lack of love and concern for His fame that opportunities are taken up He places before us and unfortunately like the two religious people who walked deliberately, conscientiously, choosing to walk on the other side of the street from the man who had been jumped on and left for dead. They had opportunity, they rejected it, they rejected Him, they rejected a man in need. Thank God there was a “GOOD Samaritan,” who saw, stopped, stooped to help and serve the injured man and take him to a place of safety and assure the person that if the injured man needed anything while he went on his way about his business when he returned he would take care of any expenses. Jesus told this story on what it means to “LOVE” your neighbor. SOMEONE Else’s misfortune, need is YOUR OPPORTUNITY to make a choice, choose to walk by or choose to walk towards the person and help by DOING GOOD and showing, demonstrating love and God is glorified.” Let us not love in word or tongue BUT IN DEEDS and TRUTH”-{1 John 3:16-18}.

WHAT DEFINES A “GOOD WORK” from God’s Perspective?

THE DIFFERENCE between a lost person and a New Creation in Christ doing “good works” is the MOTIVATION…. Love for God and the Glory of God, is what defines what is a “good” work from God’s perspective.

BE A “DO GOODER”…“IN CHRIST…”  YOU WERE CREATED” TO THIS END… FROM A HEART OF LOVE, WITH A PURPOSE- OUR FATHER BE GLORIFIED… WHILE YOU HAVE “OPPORTUNITY.” It is only “GOOD,” if a person is “In Christ…” from a heart of love for God and for the Glory of God.

YOUR TESTIMONY…

Today you have opportunities, CHOOSE TO BE A GOD MOTIVATED “DO GOODER!” from a heart of Love as a recipient of the Love of God, as an expression as a love for Him and the master passion of seeing our Heavenly Father being GLORIFIED as a testimony to Him, and a TESTIMONY FROM HIM, that you are one of His! WHAT DOES YOUR LIFE TESTIFY TO? Passing by those in need or stopping, stooping to serve those in need while you have the opportunity and ability to as the GOOD Samaritan, whom Jesus points us to of a life that LOVED!

Everyone who comes across your path is a candidate for you to DO GOOD to and GLORIFY God...from a heart of gratitude to Him, a life that is in compliance to His will and ways, and a testimony that points to the GLORY of our Heavenly Father.

Perhaps you could write Matthew 5:14-16 on a three by five card and put in a prominent place, like your bathroom mirror or a night stand by your bed and read, word for word, mediate upon the versed and ask Him to help you “see” the opportunities HE HAS PLACED BEFORE… YOU… AND CHOOSE for His sake to be a God motivated “DO GOODER,” that He be glorified!

SERVING OTHERS IS SERVING JESUS CHRIST. –

{…MEETING NEEDS FOR HIS SAKE- IS PERSONAL TO HIM!}

“…“Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ “Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’“-{Matt 5:44-45}.THE LORD JESUS Compares the ATTITUDES and ACTIONS to a lost person who is cast into eternal damnation. Let us not be as those who behave as though they  have no understanding of God or His saving grace…

Listen to HIM…” The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ “-{Matt 25:40}.

 The way we treat Others is in EXACT PROPORTION TO THE WAY WE THINK OF AND TREAT… THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!

How have you or I being treating Him lately?

Dorcas we are told had a reputation  of “DOING GOOD,” May Heaven see so and increasingly so as we learn what Paul wrote to Titus, that we learn… and zealous to DO GOOD”

Be GOD’S DO GOODER IN THE CIRCUMSTANCES YOU FIND YOURSELF IN…

YOU NEED THREE THINGS, TO BE GOD’S “DO GOODER.” A NEW HEART, AN ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE AND OPPORTUNITIES WITH PEOPLE..

“…SO then, while we have OPPORTUNITY, let us DO GOOD to ALL people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.”-{Gal 6:9-10}.”

God has saved you and one reason He has saved you to be a DO GOODER!

    For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.  “{ Eph 2:10}
