Contentment, seems so elusive, people chase after it believing they will achieve that peace of mind, satisfaction, if they can just get a little more be it recognition, praise, materialism, always something “more.”  We falsely believe if we had “more” then we would be satisfied. But even on getting “more” we again become dissatisfied and press on for “more.” It is never enough, So the chase goes on and if it is not achieved often the slow slide into despair, cynicism, hardness and bitterness of heart takes over. Why is it so? One reason is our evaluation of what we believe will satisfy us and our dissatisfaction with what we have. Our dissatisfaction is ultimately with God and His provision and so we conclude,…

WE SAY, “NOT ENOUGH.”

The word “content” speaks of that which is sufficient, satisfied, adequate, enough.

“If we have food and covering, with these we shall BE CONTENT.” -{1 Tim 6:18}

WE SAY, “NOT ENOUGH.”

Some soldiers were questioning him, saying, “And what about us, what shall we do?” And he said to them, “Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages.”-{Luke 3:14}

WE SAY, “NOT ENOUGH.”

Keep your lives free from the love of money and BE CONTENT  with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you;  never will I forsake you.”-{Hebrews 13:5}

WE SAY, “NOT ENOUGH.”

We say, Jesus Christ, His Provision and promises are NOT ENOUGH for us To be CONTENT, we want and believe we deserve and He “owes” us “MORE” in order to be content. We may not say it, but we think it and believe it by the way we behave! We want “MORE” than Himself. “MORE” than His Provision, “MORE” than His Promises. His desire is we be content with Him, His Provision, promises. Discontented people say He is not enough. His Provision is not enough. His Promises are not enough! Dissatisfied means not to be content, not to be happy. Some synonyms are discontented, dissatisfied, vexed, not best pleased, frustrated, irritated, annoyed, angry, fed up, displeased, resentful.

Be Content; You have Christ? Be content! You have food and clothing? Be content? You have wages? It does not mean you cannot pursue a better job if possible, but  in the meantime? Be content. You have His Promise, He will never abandon of forsake you. Be content! In Him there is satisfaction, sufficiency, He is Enough! For He satisfies the heart that seeks Him, His will and ways to know and do.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.“-{Matt 5;6}.”For He satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.” -{Psalm 107:9}.”For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.”-{Jer 31;25}

Read, meditate and submit to His Word, allowing it to mold your thinking and producing Godly convictions that govern and guide you in your decision making, not your circumstances, but the Christ who is LORD over each circumstance you encounter!- “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”- {Rom 12:2}.
