“Through His power ALL THINGS were made – things in Heaven and on earth, things seen and unseen, all powers, authorities ,lords, and rulers. ALL THINGS were made through Christ and For Christ. He was there before Any THING was made, and ALL THINGS continue because of Him.” – Colossians 1:16-17
In 1893, Some 21 million people visited the Famous World’s Colombian Exposition was held in Chicago…in the days before there was cars…DL Moody said – “I am going to make Jesus Christ so attractive that men will turn to Him.” “DL Moody knew that preaching JESUS CHRIST as Preeminent – the All Sovereign, Supreme, and All Sufficient Christ, when Biblically presented-would meet the needs of hearts, and transform lives. And indeed it did. One writer notes, “The ‘Chicago Campaign’ of 1893 is considered to be the greatest evangelistic work of Moody’s celebrated life, and thousands came to Christ.”-
Consider something of the Lord Jesus and “All Things”
In the Message ALL THINGS (part 1)…we saw that….
1. ALL THINGS – were CREATED by Him
2. ALL THINGS – are SUSTAINED by Him
3. ALL THINGS – are in SUBJECTION to Him
Now let’s look at some other “All Things” to thrill our soul about the Lord Jesus…
CONSIDER…
4. “ALL THINGS ARE KNOWN BY HIM”
The writer of Hebrews wrote… ” And there is no creature hidden form His SIGHT, but ALL things are Open and laid bare to the EYES of Him we have to do.”- {Heb 4:13}.IN John 16:30 – the disciples said to Him,”Now we Know that You KNOW ALL THINGS”
JESUS KNEW ALL ABOUT THE WOMAN AT THE WELL;
John 4:29 – The Lord Jesus has a conversation with the Woman at the well and she was confronted about her sin by Him she said to Him in verse 25- “I know that Messiah is coming {He who is called Christ}; when that ONE Comes, He will declare ALL THINGS to us. Jesus said to her, “I Who speak to you AM He.”
The disciples came back and saw Him speaking to her and she left her water -pot which she had brought for water and she went into the city and verse 29 says that she said, “Come, see a man who told me ALL THE THINGS I have done…”
HE KNOWS THE HEARTS:
Mark 7:23- “For from within, out to f the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting, and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. ALL THESE EVIL THINGS proceed from within and defile the man” – He Knows ALL THINGS
In Ezekiel chapter 8 we see that those who were to be leading the people to worship God were themselves worshipping idols in their own hearts and God EXPOSES it because He sees completely. He sees in the secret place, the hidden place, all things are open and bare before Him, both our actions and attitudes. Our thoughts past, present and what we will think of in the future. Neither darkness nor silence can prevent Him from Knowing us completely.
ALL THINGS CREATED BY HIM
ALL THINGS- ARE SUSTAINED BY HIM
ALL THINGS- ARE IN SUBMISSION TO HIM
ALL THINGS ARE KNOWN BY HIM
CONSIDER…
5. “ALL THINGS are Possible with God” –
MARK 10:27 – “Looking upon them, Jesus said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; For ALL THINGS ARE Possible with God.”
A man came to Jesus and said, “Good teacher WHAT SHALL I DO TO INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE…. The Lord spoke to him about the commandments and told him, “One thing you lack; go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven; Come, follow Me. “But at these words his face fell, and he went away grieved, for he was one who owned much property. And Jesus looking around said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God.”
And they were astonished and said to Him, “Then who can be saved? MARK 10:27 – “Looking upon them, Jesus said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; For ALL THINGS ARE Possible with God.”
ONLY GOD CAN SAVE…
He can save the chief of sinners…His arm is not short that He cannot save… He can save the foulest… He alone can Give LIFE to the Spiritually Dead {Ephesians 2:1-4 }… there is none so bad, no sin so deep and binding that he cannot break and forgive…. with man it is impossible TO BE IN A RIGHT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD… the person who is separated from God neither seeks nor desires His rule only what He can do for him in ways of “blessings.” None seek after God no not one
It is IMPOSSIBLE for any individual to be right with God outside of Jesus Christ- {Rom 5:1 } Salvation is not possible for any man to achieve but “ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD”
CONSIDER…
6. ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO him who Believes in Him – Mark 9:23
MARK 9: 23- The Lord Jesus came and saw a large crowd around His disciples and when the entire crowd saw Jesus they were amazed and began running up to Him, and He asked them what they were discussing with them? “And one of the crowd answered Him, “Teacher, I brought You my son, possessed with a spirit which makes him mute; and whenever it seizes him, it slams him to the ground and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth and stiffens out. I told Your disciples to cast it out, and they could not do it. And He answered them and said, “O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him to Me!” They brought the boy to Him. When he saw Him, immediately the spirit threw him into a convulsion, and falling to the ground, he began rolling around and foaming at the mouth. And He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. “It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!”
And Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can?’ All things are possible to him who believes.” Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said, “I do believe; help my unbelief.” When Jesus saw that a crowd was rapidly gathering, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You deaf and mute spirit, I command you, come out of him and do not enter him again.” After crying out and throwing him into terrible convulsions, it came out; and the boy became so much like a corpse that most of them said, “He is dead!” But Jesus took him by the hand and raised him; and he got up
“ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO HIM WHO BELIEVES “
ALL THINGS – ARE CREATED BY HIM
ALL THINGS – ARE SUSTAINED BY HIM
ALL THINGS – ARE IN SUBJECTION TO HIM
ALL THINGS – ARE KNOWN BY HIM
ALL THINGS – ARE POSSIBLE WITH HIM
ALL THINGS – ARE POSSIBLE TO HIM WHO BELIEVES
CONSIDER…
7. ALL THINGS work together for good to those who LOVE HIM, -” And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to {His} purpose.” -{Rom 8:28}
ALL THINGS – NOT a few things, or some things or even most things but “ALL THINGS” BECAUSE of Who He is- Creator, Sustainer, Sovereign and the Omega…Bless Him for Who He is …Think on Him…Thank Him, TRUST Him, Tell of Him who is GOD
1 Peter 1:6-9
“In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls”
“ALL THINGS” work together for good to those who “LOVE HIM”- and He knows you do! And to those who do, “ALL THINGS” will work together for good in conforming us to the image of His Son- {Rom 8:29}
THE LORD JESUS IS THE FOCUS OF LIFE. Encourage your heart by meditating on these 8 truth’s and PRAISE Him for Who He is, Creator, Sustainer, Sovereign, and The Omega … and in light of WHO HE IS we can say by the Grace of God and with great assurance amidst the storms that “WE KNOW…”.
CONSIDER…
8.- ALL THINGS – are heading TOWARDS Him
Col 1:16 – ” all things were created by Him, and FOR him: ”
The Word “FOR” can also be translated “TOWARD.” Reread the verse with “towards” in place of “for”…”All things” were created by Him and TOWARDS HIM.”
All things are Heading towards JESUS.
LIKE A GIANT MAGNET – With its Invisible Power….Pulling…Drawing all of Mankind towards a Meeting with Jesus Christ. Like a Conveyer belt which Moves objects from one place to another- , so moment by moment, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year… all of creation is heading closer and closer towards Jesus Christ. Like a ship heading from N. America to a port in Europe, it moves towards its Destination. It may contain hundreds and hundreds of people on board, some serving, some sun bathing, some playing, others dancing others praying, others occupied with various things… all slowly but surely are heading towards the DESTINATION. Unlike a ship which could crash or sink or malfunction. Nothing and no one can DELAY or DETER or DEVIATE from the Destination- JESUS CHRIST, where every Knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of the Father {Phil 2:10-11 }- He is the beginning and he is the end. He has the final say. He is history’s Destination!
Every thing was Created by Him and is Heading TOWARD Him.
Where is History going? Toward a meeting with the Resurrected Lord Jesus Christ. Where is this generation going? Toward a meeting with the Resurrected Lord Jesus Christ. Where are you Going ? Closer and closer Toward a meeting with the Resurrected Lord Jesus Christ.
In light of the above realities … that “ALL THINGS” were
1. – Created By Him,
2. – Sustained by Him. ALL THINGS are in
3. – Submission to Him and ALL THINGS are
4. – Possible with Him
5. – Known by Him –
6. – Possible with him who believes in Him
7. – Work together for Good to those who Love Him and ALL THINGS are
8. – Heading Towards Him
CONSIDER…
NO THING CAN SEPARATE US FROM HIS LOVE
ROM 8: 38 ” For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
“WHAT A SAVIOR!”
Years ago two Americans traveled to England to listen to some of the well-known preachers of the day. After one message they stood and spoke of the message. One said “What a message!” They later went to another service where they listened to CH Spurgeon and upon exiting the service one commented to his friend “WHAT A SAVIOR!” Spurgeon had made much of the Lord Jesus and indeed this is the ministry of the Holy Spirit- “He will Glorify Me.”- John 16:14. As one of America’s great preachers, S.M. Lockridge put it in a favorite poem he wrote…here are a few excerpts which read…
YOU CAN TRUST HIM!
… He’s the Master of the mighty He’s the Captain of the conquerors.
He’s the Head of the Heroes. He’s the leader of the legislators. He’s the Overseer of the overcomers
He’s the Governor of the governors He’s the Prince of Princes. He’s the King of Kings. He’s the Lord of lords.
His yoke is easy,
His burden is Light.
I wish I could describe Him to you.!
He’s Indescribable because
He’s Incomprehensible.

JESUS CHRIST – JOHN WESLEY’S FAVORITE SUBJECT
On June 14 1739 John Wesley preached in Blackheath to between 12 and 14,000 people from 1 Cor 1:27-30 – ” on my favorite subject” he said,…which was… Jesus Christ.
Wesley never got tired of Preaching Christ… and 22 years later his message was the same – the passage from 1 Cor 1:27-30 which announces Jesus Christ as “our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption.” 22 years later he had not tired on what he called “…my favorite subject”- which was the Lord Jesus- What a Theme He is!
HE IS THE GOD OF “ALL THINGS
In light of the above realities … that “ALL THINGS” were
1. – ALL THINGS were Created By Him,
2. – ALL THINGS are Sustained by Him.
3. – ALL THINGS are in Submission to Him…
4. – ALL THINGS are possible with Him
5. – ALL THINGS are Possible to those who Believe in Him
6. – ALL THINGS are Known by Him
7. – ALL THINGS WORK together for good to those who love Him
8 – ALL THINGS ARE Heading Towards HIM
“NO THING ” can separate us from His Love, neither, “neither Things present…. nor things to Come … nor any “Created Thing…”- Romans 8:35
OUR RESPONSIBILITY ?- TO GLORIFY HIM.
Paul writes in Romans 11:36- ” For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the Glory.” Glorifying Him, Making much of His Name and Spreading His Fame in light of who He is the God of “ALL Things”
