“How shall we escape, if we NEGLECT so GREAT a Salvation”- {Heb 2:3}

 “The idea of salvation is that the power of God rescues people from the penalty of sin, which is spiritual death which is followed by eternal separation from the presence of His Glory.”- {Preceptaustin.}

 Salvation is “Great” because the Author is “Great.”
It is “Great,” because- He is a Great Savior –
It is “Great” because He saves from all sins.
It is “Great” because He saves from eternal dangers-Hell.
It is “Great,” because of the power to deliver, rescue from the bondage of sin.
It is “Great,” because it is from Heaven and leads to Heaven.
It is “Great,” because all of our sins are forgiven.
It is “Great,” because we have a new beginning.

It is “Great” Because He is “Great.” It is “Great” because He is The Great Savior! It is “Great” Because He is our “Great High Priest.”

“NEGLECT”,”-literally means, “without care and thus showing no concern. To be careless. To be unconcerned about or to care nothing for something or someone. To be indifferent to the message is what the writer warns the readers against. Carelessness, indifference, concerning the LORD Jesus and the Gospel, as though it makes no difference, that it is no big deal, irrelevant, take or leave it as you decide, is to miss the point of the severity of the consequences, and eternity in hell, separated from God because you refuse to take God serious!

 A business person who “neglects” his business will soon be out of business. A farmer who “neglects their farm, and fails to plant will have no crops. A person who “neglects” the upkeep of their house will deteriorate. A person who neglects taking care of their teeth will soon lose them! There are consequences in the natural realm to neglecting, how much more in the spiritual realm temporal versus eternity!

People “neglect,” because other things are more important, or they shall value something of no importance.
People “neglect,” to their own  harm.
To “neglect,” is to “drift by,” to allow it to pass by.  Like a ship coming into harbor to dock but upon seeing the dock just drifts by…! None “escape,” if the choose to “neglect’ so great a salvation.To “Neglect,” so great a salvation, is to bring about ruin- eternal ruin, and the consequences that result.Take heed to what you take heed of most, that causes you to “neglect” your spiritual need.

“Neglect,” – history is littered with people who have “neglected,” their soul. Grave yards are full of the names of those who have “neglected,” God’s provision of salvation- His Son. “And there is salvation in no one else, {But Jesus}; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” – {Acts 4:12}

Religions can never spiritually deliver a soul from the guilt and penalty of sin in to a right relationship with God. Indeed  religions lead people into bondage and place rules on people and weigh people down with them. {See Matt 11:28}. There is no freedom in them. They enslave people There is no salvation in any of them. But true salvation is found in a Person, the LORD Jesus. “I have come that you might have life and life abundant… abundant joy…abundant grace… joy unspeakable, a Living Hope.”

 “How shall we ESCAPE, if neglect so great a salvation.”- It is impossible to escape the Judgement of God and the penalty for sin when we chose to “neglect so great a salvation.” God has ONE Son,{John 3:16} who is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE, NO ONE comes to the Father except through Him!- {John 14:6}. He alone is the ONE and ONLY MEDIATOR that God accepts- ” For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, ” – {1 Tim 2:5}, ONE NAME by which we can be SAVED! …”And there is salvation in NO ONE ELSE, {But Jesus}; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”-{Acts 4:12}

“Escape,”- means literally to flee out and so to flee out of a place and to escape…The writer says there is no escape from the terrible consequences. TO REJECT God’s Son, The Gospel, the consequences are eternal damnation as God has no other means for people to be made right with Him! He has given His Beloved Son, and to reject Him, His sacrifice,His resurrection, is to reject GOD!
