A NEW YEAR -DOESN’T CHANGE ANYTHING!
{of eternal value}.
Millions gather all over the world to “celebrate” and many believe the lie that a”New” year will change everything, that somehow this “New” year “Guarantees” it! False hopes offered that somehow this “new” date “guarantees” that this “new” year is going to make everything better…But if your spiritually bound and lost, you are spiritually bound and lost. And the turning of a date in a calendar, the counting down of the seconds, the cheering of watching the “Big Ball” drop, the celebrating with fireworks, doesn’t make any eternal difference. If your spiritually lost, a ball dropping, a date changing, has no power to deliver from the bondage, guilt, and power of sin that enslaves, spiritually blind’s and grinds you down and leads you like an animal to slaughter, to all those who are heading to a Christ-less eternity!
BUT – A NEW RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, CHANGES EVERYTHING, ETERNALLY!
So we Celebrate the Temporal, oblivious to the Eternal! Building our lives on “sand” rather than on the Rock of His Word! By all means enjoy the “Ball” dropping, the fireworks, but to put your trust in a ‘new’ date in a calendar going to change things is foolish, and worse it is to deceive yourself, believing a lie and a damnable one at that, a false hope, a false “messiah,” a false message!
No matter how late you stay up, no matter how long you count down the clock, no matter how much you celebrate…,
It’s not a NEW year but a NEW Relationship with God, that is needed!
We Celebrate a Date as if somehow it’s going to “magically” change everything and satisfy our hearts, cover our sin, when in reality we need a NEW Relationship with God, through and only through the Lord Jesus Christ who said,”I am THE Way, THE Truth, THE Life, NO ONE comes to The Father EXCEPT through ME.”- {John 14:6.}. He claims Exclusivity. He is not “a” way, “a” truth, “a” life, but “THE.” “The” One and Only! Exclusivity, He claims!
As His PEOPLE we have been given …
A NEW PERSPECTIVE–
We have been entrusted with a NEW MESSAGE of Reconciliation with God through our Lord Jesus Christ! Yep, celebrate the NEW Year…but if you have the same old heart… nothing changes. But a new heart… Eternally, there is inward change, though temporally circumstances may or may not change BUT eternally everything changes!
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:…that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God.”-{ 2 Cor 5:17-20}.
A NEW RELATIONSHIP –
“…who reconciled us to Himself through Christ…”
A NEW CREATION – IN CHRIST –
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”
A NEW BEGINNING –
“…The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come…that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them! “
A NEW PURPOSE–
‘Gave us the Ministry of Reconciliation…
A NEW MESSAGE ENTRUSTED TO US-
That is Not Political, Academic, Cultural but RELATIONAL!!! “…We implore you on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God.…And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God” – 🙂
A NEW YEAR,
BY HIS GRACE TO develop our relationship with Him and to REACH OUT WITH THE ETERNAL MESSAGE entrusted to each of us to hold forth to others of reconciliation with God through our LORD JESUS –
HE changes our position to be someone new…
NEW standing with God…{Read Rom 5:1-2}
NEW relationship- NEW purpose, NEW message… OF HOPE FOR OTHERS TO BECOME “NEW CREATION’S IN CHRIST!”
A NEW DATE,YEAR, DOES NOT CHANGE US
BUT A NEW RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, CHANGES OUR SPIRITUAL STANDING, CHANGES OUR LIVING, CHANGES OUR PURPOSE, CHANGES OUR DESTINATION, CHANGES OUR MESSAGE, CHANGES EVERYTHING! CELEBRATE HIM…
* THANK HIM FOR ALL HE HAS DONE IN THE PAST,
* THANK HIM FOR PRESENT POSITION WITH HIM,
* THANK HIM FOR THE PRIVILEGE TO BE HIS AMBASSADOR AND TRUST HIM TO EMPOWER YOU TO HAVE FAVOR WITH OTHERS TO SHARE THIS WONDERFUL MESSAGE OF… HIM!
They need not look to a “New” Date for hope, but a PERSON WHO IS HOPE! {Read Rom 15:13}. He can make them NEW CREATIONS IN CHRIST! – 🙂
A ‘NEW’ Year doesn’t change Anything, eternally, But A ‘NEW’ Relationship with God changes Everything, Eternally!
