“Let US not grow weary
in IN WELL-DOING,
for in due time WE will reap a harvest,
if WE do not give up.
Therefore, as WE have OPPORTUNITY,
let US DO GOOD to EVERYONE,
and ESPECIALLY
to the family of faith.”- {Gal 6:9-10}.

SOME OBSERVATIONS;
1. CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY – “Let us… we…” it is an encouragement to all His people. It is plural. This is to be the attitude, action of ALL of His people. It is not just for one person here or there but ALL of us, you, me. The two verses say, “Let us…we…we…we…Let us!” It is not a spectator sport but Participation “we” are all to be involved in! It is easy to sit back and look to see who is doing what, who should be doing what and forget our God given responsibility, “Let us…we…” Together!

2. TEMPTATION– Weariness is a Potential reality and the temptation to “GIVE UP” for all believers.   “Let us not lose heart –  (note pronoun “us” The verb lose heart is present tense and speaks of continuing action (“don’t let losing heart be your continual response” is the idea}. Becoming weary, exhausted, or tired of doing something is one of the ways this word can be used.

3. OPPORTUNITY– is what is needed. Throughout the day as opportunities present themselves, He has revealed it in His Word…as you have opportunity DO GOOD.

The Good Samaritan saw an opportunity to do good and took it, which Jesus holds up as LOVE. the other two men who had the same opportunity to Love, CHOSE to turn and walk on by. “Someone has well said that the reason some people don’t recognize opportunity is that it usually comes disguised as hard work.” Or maybe an inconvenience, or  sacrifice involved? Opportunities can go a begging not for lack of opportunities but due to a lack of love!
Opportunities do not mean we avail of opportunities to LOVE. Sometimes like these two men we CHOOSE to walk on by…an act of lovelessenss. It reveals the condition of our own heart at such a time.
Opportunities to Do good to others, afford us the Opportunity to check out our own heart!

4. DOING GOOD – We were saved for “good works”-{Eph 2:10}; are to be ready to do good, learn to do good, eager to do good. {Read Titus and look up phrase “good deeds/ works” – “In everything set them an example by doing what is good.”- {Titus 2:7}. Everyone is a candidate for being the recipient of Your, my good works and particularly those of the household of faith.

And the ultimate goal of doing good? Jesus says in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine before men that they may SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS AND GLORIFY your Father who is in heaven!” So why do good? Ultimately that the Father may receive the Glory He is rightly due!

5. PROMISE – “for in due time WE will reap a harvest, if WE do not give up.”

“Let us… Grow…in well doing
Let us…Do Good… To everyone
Especially..the Family Of Faith. “

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. ” -{Hebrews 13:16}
