David was on the run from Saul and out of FEAR had run to the region of the Philistines, who he had once slayed their champion Goliath. He was in opposition land. Upon discovering who he was, he feigned madness. He allowed FEAR to Influence his decision rather than live by FAITH in the LORD when he found himself under pressure!… He was in trouble due to his own choices. “But God…” shows us His mercy. David TESTIFIES in Psalm 34 of HOW he TASTED, personally experienced the Goodness of the Lord.

In verse 4 he wrote, “I sought the Lord, and He answered me, And delivered me from ALL my FEARS” He prayed and God ANSWERED and DELIVERED him from…ALL his fears!

In verse 6 he wrote, “In my desperation I prayed and the LORD LISTENED…”{NLT}… How wonderful, He had an audience with the KING… and He LISTENED to him, though he had rejected trusting Him and was in the circumstances by choice! David goes on to say “…and SAVED me OUT OF ALL my TROUBLES!

Think about it. God is worshipped in heaven by myriads and myriads and in the crescendo of praise and worship He hears the cry of David and does not ignore but intimately is involved and delivers, recuses him from, “ALL” his “fears” and “ALL” his “troubles.” How tender and intimately acquainted and caring for us He is!

Note;

God could have kept him FROM troubles, but He doesn’t. But in the midst of FEAR and TROUBLES…He turns to the Lord and tastes and sees His Goodness as he EXPERIENCES the LORD delivering him FROM ALL his fears and ALL his troubles… and He has an Audience with the LORD and the LORD LISTENED to him when he cried out…. how wonderful. How GRACIOUS and what HOPE for you and me is found with the LORD.

There are times BY CHOICE, WE put ourselves in places we should not, perhaps out of FEAR and abandon FAITH in Him at that moment of crisis, pressure. We FLEE from Him instead of to Him… But upon remembering Him and when we turn back to Him and cry out, we experience… “But God…” who in mercy meets us with Grace, and the assurance He has LISTENED to our prayers and DELIVERS us. And we experience and TASTE and SEE THE LORD is GOOD as we EXPERIENCE…

1. ASSURANCE HE LISTENS TO US

2. DELIVERANCE FROM ALL OUR FEARS…

3. DELIVERANCE FROM ALL OUR TROUBLES…

4. TASTE AND SEE THE LORD IS GOOD BY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

David TURNED TO THE LORD…and PRAYED, he CRIED out…was key! As it is in our own lives…turning to HIM, not away from Him!

There are times when THE LORD may choose not to deliver us from trouble but He will not abandon us but give us GRACE to SUSTAIN us IN our circumstances just as He did with Paul and his painful “thorn.” Paul TESTIFIED that His grace was SUFFICIENT and in his weakness the LORD unleashed His Power to strengthen to such an extent Paul Boasts in his weakness knowing it is God’s means to display His power to and through him-{Read 2 Cor 12:9-11} Paul too had TASTED and SEEN the LORD is GOOD. He had experienced “… THE LORD IS GOOD!” Yes, he too had experienced the LORD had LISTENED to him and He chose a different answer but did not abandon but took him down a different rode to experience Him and experience His GOODNESS by experience. Yes, in the hard place He can be known, experienced by His deeds and can say through experience “that… the LORD IS GOOD!”

· TAKE YOUR FEARS AND TROUBLES TO THE LORD.

· WHEN YOU PRAY, KNOW HE LISTENS TO YOU

· OUR FAILURE IS NOT FINAL WHEN PLACED IN HIS HANDS.

· TASTE AND SEE THE LORD IS GOOD, EVEN OUT OF OUR FAILURES AND SIN

And as DAVID CALLS OTHERS To “TASTE and SEE the LORD is GOOD”… we too can TESTIFY His goodness to others and call others to come “TASTE and SEE the LORD is GOOD.”
