My son called from school one night and said, he thought a truck had run into his apartment building It turned out to be the results of an earthquake! He was fine. He was so kind he was checking in on me. I shared with him the words if a famous cricket player in England who became a missionary, on his view of life, “one life to live twill soon be past only what’s done for Christ will last.” Who would have thought in SC an earthquake would occur… Who would have taught healthy people  through out the world, who awake in the morning, would be in eternity by night… ” one life to live…”

Paul said, “fix your affections on things above where Christ is… I do all things for the sake of the Gospel…” Jesus said,” seek as the priority of your life the kingdom of God…” {Colossians 3:1-3; Matt 6:33}

My dear son was so kind to call and check on me.He has one life to live.We each have one life to live, “…twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last!” We each will have one day we wake up and eternity awaits by the end of that final day on earth for us.Paul told Timothy “lay hold (Get a grip) of eternal realities…” { 1 Timothy 6:12}

ANOTHER WORLD;

John Wesley was with a friend who had accumulated much on this earth and he and Weslely were walking in the garden of this wealthy man when he turned to Wesley and said,” all this you could have had.” Wesley replied,” oh but there is another world.” Wesley was living in light of eternity, storing up” treasure where moth and rust cannot corrode.” Wealth in itself is not bad, it is our ATTITUDE towards it,that is the main issue! Listen to the words of Jesus, – “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – (Matthew 6: 19-21)

We all make choices to live for one if two worlds … One sets their affection on things of the earth. The other sets their affections on things above.

What choice is my son making? What choice am I making?

What choices have you been making? Which world am I living for?

Which world are you living for? What choices do we need to change?

What choices do we need to take courage from and continue to persevere in?… You have, I have, we have, …

one life to live, twill soon be past only what is done for Christ will last.”

The clock is ticking… spend your life on loving Him and about His business.
