” In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.”- Isaiah 6:1.
George Mueller had been told while on board a ship, that the ship would not arrive at his destination in time for him to make his speaking engagement. He went down stairs to pray, the captain went with him. Mueller prayed a simple prayer asking the LORD to please lift the fog. When he and the captain went back up on board the deck to the captain’s amazement the fog had lifted. Mueller said to the captain, “My eye was not on the density of the fog but on the Living God!” It was in a difficult time in his life when Uzziah the king, the temporal king had died that Isaiah Looked up and saw the Everlasting King reigning! “The Throne,” speaks of Soverignty. The King is in His eternal Residency!
LOOK UP- Focus on HIM, and know who you are, “In Christ.”
LOOK UP– IN Him you are ACCEPTED, irrevocably, eternally, ”In Christ.”- Eph 1:6
LOOK UP- For He has BLESSED you with every spiritual blessing, “In Christ.”- Eph1:3
LOOK UP- He has DELIVERED you from the wrath of God. He is your DEFENDER, DELIVERER!- Rom 5
LOOK UP- and know you are EVERLASTINGLY Loved by Him, and nothing can separate you from the love of Christ.- Rom 8:31-39
LOOK UP- Your Heavenly FATHER loves you, and from Him “every good and perfect gift comes from… and if you been evil know how to give good gifts, HOW MUCH MORE Your Heavenly Father…
LOOK UP- For your GREAT High Priest sits down having accomplished the work of His Father and opened the way for you though His sacrifice may come any time. He is GOOD, GREAT, and GOD-Heb4:12-16
LOOK UP- He is your HELP in times of trouble. He is your HOPE. – Ps 121:1;Rom 15:13
LOOK UP- For by God’s doing you are IN Christ, who became to you wisdom from God, righteousness, sanctification, redemption. LOOK UP and see who He says you are and what you have “IN Christ.” He is INTIMATELY acquainted with you and His “eye is upon the righteous and His ear attentive to your call,”
LOOK UP– to JESUS. who came to save His people from their sins. The good news if you are struggling now with a Sin issue. Ask Him to save, rescue, deliver,you from this one. He is Jesus, the Friend of sinners. Jesus the lover of your soul. Jesus who is sufficient and in Him we have been made complete, lacking nothing for all we need is found in Him. Complete salvation, complete forgiveness, complete victory in Jesus and because of Jesus!
LOOK UP- God is KING- not some puny man, whose breath God controls. He is KIND, KNOWING ALL…KING OF KINGS.
LOOK UP– You are LOVED with an everlasting love, by the LORD, who is LORD over Creation, LORD of Salvation, LORD over our final destination, LORD over every Situation, LORD of lords.
LOOK UP- to Him who is full of MERCY, who has given us precious and MAGNIFICENT Promises to be applied and who has made you a NEW person in Christ.
LOOK UP- and realize the LORD is NEAR. He is NEAR the broken hearted. The LORD heals the Broken Hearted!
LOOK UP– He is OMNIPOTENT, OMNISCIENT, OMNIPRESENCE. Look to Him.
LOOK UP- He is your POWER to live and He has imparted you POWER to live Godly. HIS PROMISES ARE PRECIOUS and magnificent gifts for you to use and be applied.
LOOK UP– Your REDEEMER is coming again. He imparts REST to the weary,He REIGNS supreme over all.
LOOK UP– SET your affections on things above where Christ is SEATED, in the place of SOVEREIGNTY. He is your SAVIOR, SANCTIFIES, SIN BEARER, SUBSTITUTE, SECURITY, SATISFACTION is found in Him.
LOOK UP– He is TRIUMPHANT, He is the TRUTH, He is TRUSTWORTHY.
LOOK UP– He is UNCHANGING. He is UNCHANGING in His Person. He is UNCHANGING in His Promises. He is UNCHANGING in His POWER to exercise those promises. His Word is UNCHANGING. He is UNCHANGING- He is The same yesterday, today, and forever. He is UNCHANGING! While all around you may change, Know this- No Change Jehovah knows!
LOOK UP– He is VICTORIOUS over, sin, death, the grave and He ascended from the grave as VICTORIOUS. VICTORY to live is found in Him. Victory in our circumstances we an live VICTORIOUSLY, relating all to Him, relying upon Him , rejoicing in Him who is VICTORIOUS in whom all power and earth has been given to . VICTORY in Jesus over sin, satan and self.
LOOK UP- He is WONDERFUL counselor, He is WONDERFUL in His Word, He is WINSOME, He is WISE, In Him we find WISDOM to live.
LOOK UP– For HE is The Alpha and Omega- He is the Beginning and End.
Don’t look inward. Paul has already been there and he concludes, “No good thing dwells in me.” It’s a little like having a huge garbage can ten feet tall, packed full. If you begin at the top to remove it the deeper down you go, you still find garbage, rotten fish, fruit, meat and maggots and you think surely I should keep going, but the further down you dive the richer the stench. STOP , CLIMB OUT… So often as believers, trouble comes and we tend to LOOK INWARD… to OURSELVES, as though there can be some comfort found there, when Comfort is found in Christ. LOOK AWAY TO JESUS. When tough times comes, when difficulties arise, and the temptation is to take your hurt and turn INWARD, and in turn spiral downward with thoughts that focus on self, and further and further your emotions swirl around and you find yourself falling down in despair. Time to stop- SPEAK TO YOURSELF. the Psalmist teaches us,” why cast down o m soul, PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD…. Surely I would have despaired UNLESS I believed to See the GOODNESS OF THE LORD in the land of the living…”Bless the LORD O my SOUL and all that is WITHIN me…. BLESS His Holy Name.” The Psalmist teaches us to LOOK UP… Speak to your soul- ask yourself, why are you so down?… and then speak the truth to yourself and act upon it- PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD. Speak to yourself and say, “SOUL… and ALL THAT IS WITHIN ME…,” irrespective of how I “feel” or don’t “feel,” – the bottom line my “feelings’ will not dictate and decide how I behave. I choose to BLESS Him. I LOOK UP, by His Grace through the truth of His Word, by the power of the Holy Spirit to illumine His Word and reveal Jesus Christ to us In His Word!
Look Up, to the One who sits above, reigning and who is intimately acqauinted with you. He is for you. He is with you. Fix your thoughts on Him. Trust in Him. Look Up to Him.
“ and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost…”- Rev 21:4-5.
Mueller knew the secret was to LOOK UP, And see Him, Soverign King who reigns above all the density of “the fog’s” of life. “My eye was not on the density of the fog, but on the Living God.”
Difficulties of life, can be reminders to us, to pause, to LOOK UP, TO GOD WHO REIGNS!
LOOK UP – HE IS WORTH LOOKING AT!
