Why God Does Not Condemn You -{Romans 8:34-35}

 4 REASONS WHY NO ONE CAN CONDEMN THE BELIEVER! 

“Who will condemn? It is Christ [Jesus] who died, rather, was raised, who also is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us. What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword?” –  {Romans 8:34-35.}

Let the worst of the worst step forward in God’s court and let them accuse you and list all the reasons why and all the sins of commission and omission against you. Let them build their case using all of time, events against you. Let them throw their worst accusations against you. And the bar of Heaven will still proclaim, “No One!” Has the right, authority or ability to reverse what God has declared, “there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are In Christ Jesus. For what the law could not do, weak as it was GOD DID!”-Rom 8:1-2 “Who is the one who brings a charge against God’s elect, God is the One who justifies.”-Romans 8:33. When God declares you right, you are right before Him forever! You are fully accepted because of the  merits of the Lord Jesus on your eternal behalf! Think on that! GOD IS FOR YOU!

The evil one who accuses the brethren night and day,{Zech 3:1-7; Rev 12:10}, will not change what God says! “God is the One who justifies… There is therefore NOW…No condemnation for those who are “In Christ Jesus!” Your conscience may accuse you, others may accuse you, but your legal standing, your position through your relationship with God is…perfect!…flawless… based solely and totally on what Jesus Christ did for you. He died- the just for the unjust that we might become right with God. This legal binding is all about HIM! What He did and what it means to God! “Who is the one who condemns? No one!” What sweet and comforting words to bask in and to derive strength from. God’s words to you!  “Who is the one who condemns…you? No One!” –There is no one who has the legal authority to condemn you that are “In Christ,” to Hell, “NO ONE!” GOD IS FOR YOU!

Romans 8 is a wonderful chapter of conform and confidence building for the Believer…

• The Father proved He is for you by giving His Beloved Son- {v 31}
• The Spirit is for you {v26}
• The Son is for you- {v 34}
• God has promised “ALL THINGS will work out for good.” for you.{28}
• God is for you! If God is for you who can be against you!

Since Christ died for us while we were yet sinners how much more will He give now that we are His children. God deals with you based on the Cross of Calvary, not on the laws demands. For Christ fulfilled those. God deals with you on the merits of His Son, not yours! Fear not, Good is for you! Fear not the trials, for God is for you. Fear not the disappointments, for in Him there is none- God is for you. Your circumstances seem to be against you? God is working them for good. Others seem to be against you? God is for you? Nothing can separate you from the love of Christ because God is for you!

God does not, cannot and will not condemn you- He Justified you-Christ Jesus does not condemn you…

WHY NOT?

1.- “Christ Jesus is He who died”-

Why can no one condemn you ? Christ died for your sins! He died- the just for the unjust. His death in your place as your Substitute- taking all of your sin upon Himself and bearing all of God’s wrath for that sin! Christ died for ALL of your sin! “It is finished” He cried upon the cross which means, “Paid in full.”

Do you think He would condemn you having gone ahead and died for you? He bore the condemnation so we would never have to!

All that God required to pay for your sin, was extracted from Jesus Christ. He paid the full price! In doing so, God took the righteousness of Christ and clothed you in it and declared you right with and before Him for all eternity! You are now,”In Christ,” safe, secure is your eternal destination. Your soul is kept by the power of God {1 Peter 1:5}. “God is the One who Justifies!”{Romans 8:33} God can declare and does declare you right because CHRIST DIED FOR YOUR SINS- to satisfy God’s justice, holiness and righteousness! God justifies you and No one can condemn you to an eternal Hell or sever you from the love of God! God was fully satisfied with Jesus as your Sin Bearer, Substitute. He died in your place. He died for your sin that you may not die IN your sin! God is for you! He Intervened with His life. Rest in His Love. Think often of Him.

 

2. – Christ Jesus “…rather who was raised.”

Would God now say to His dear Son,“ –Your death is not enough for this one’s sin? I should not have raised You for this one’s sin? I should never have raised You because of this one’s sin? “MADNESS ! God has raised Jesus Christ, He is Fully satisfied with His offering once and for all– for all your sin! -{Read Col 2:12-13}.

He has been and is seated, once and forever, never again to be offered for sin! He is in the place of honor, privilege and power- at His right hand! He is Lord of lord’s and King of kings.God raised Jesus from the dead as evidence of the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ on your behalf as fully acceptable and satisfactory to Him! This was the evidence the payment for sin by Jesus Christ was enough to satisfy the demands of God’s justice, holy and righteous standard of perfection! God raised Jesus from the dead. As a result, all who turn in true repentance towards God and place their  entire faith exclusively in Jesus Christ- alone- are declared right with God, sins forgiven, accepted into His family and no one can condemn you any more than Christ can be cast into Hell.  God raised Him from the dead as proof He was satisfied with His sin offering on your behalf. He is raised as the Victor -{Col 2:14-15}. He is Victor over sin, death, the grave, satan. He holds the keys of life and death.

 

3.- Christ Jesus “…who is at the right hand of God.”

It is He who is Enthroned and worshiped – {Read Phil 2:9-10; Rev 5:11-13}. His place of exaltation to the Throne is where you find a Friend, ADVOCATE, and The Lamb of God who was slain for your sin, the just for the unjust to bring you to God- safe, secure and with exceeding great joy {Read Jude 24 }. He is exalted to the place of Power, unlimited power! He is the KING! He will judge all. “Every knee shall bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God.”-{Read Phil 2:9-11}

What is one of the things He is doing there now- specifically…for…you?

 

4. – Christ Jesus , “…who also intercedes for us”  

He is praying for you. He is praying for you. The Holy Spirit is praying for you {26-27} and the Son of God is praying for you {v34}. How awesome is that!  When the evil one, or your conscience accuses you falsely that you cannot know for sure of your salvation He prays for you. When condemnation seems right… He prays for you to be assured His death, His resurrection, His sacrifice is alone sufficient for you. When temptation would seek to trip you up to sin against God, He prays for you. He is your Great High Priest who lives to intercede for you! – {Read Hebrews 4:14-16}. It is He who now prays for you, interceding on your behalf. When the accuser of the brethren condemns, It is His Work, His wounds, his death for that particular sin He says -I paid for that sin…I paid for that sin…I paid for them all…. “Who is the one who condemns?- NO ONE” For Jesus Christ bore your condemnation upon the cross… and was raised and is Exalted and is interceding for us- you and me – now! Glory- what exultation should come forth from our hearts to Him! Jesus the Exalted One is praying for you. All His prayers are answered! Look to Him who sweated drops of blood in Gethsemane as He prepared to go to the cross for you. Look to Him  who on the cross prayed,“Father forgive them they do not know what they are doing.” He now EVER LIVES to Intercede for you! He prays not from a place of weakness but of Absolute Power!

REMEMBER  JESUS CHRIST…LOVES…YOU!  {v 35-39} “In Christ” there is no condemnation {v 1}. “In Christ” we are “super conquerors”- {v 37} “In Christ” you are sheltered from the wrath of God because you are now a son or daughter of God through Christ! Your salvation is sure and secure,“In Christ.”  Though we fail Him, He never fails us! For nothing, “… will be able to separate us from the love of  God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” {v 39} He is your surety. He is your security!  There is now no condemnation,“In Christ.” There is no separation from the love of God to those who are “In Christ!” {Read Romans 8:38-39}. Rest in His love for you. Stop striving. Rejoice in Him. Believe Him.

This does not mean that God shelters us from the trials and difficulties of life but He uses them to spiritually mature us -{Read Romans 5:3-5}.

• Christ died for you
• Christ was raised for you
• Christ is Exalted
• Christ Prays for you
• Christ Loves you
• There is no deficiency in Christ. There is no deficiency for You because you are, “In Christ.” Just as Noah was safe and secure in the Ark, you too are “In Christ!” All you need for your spiritual security, stability, satisfaction is found,“In Christ.” Celebrate Him.

These are FACTS! It is not a matter of looking at your failures and living condemned. It is not about your FEELINGS and doubts but it is about THE FACT of GOD’S LOVE FOR YOU! He is  to be YOUR FOCUS. Look away to Jesus, in Him you will find no condemnation and no separation, only security and surety!

Charges and Accusations against you? Yes! satan, self, others may and often do. But no one can condemn you for YOUR SINS that will cause GOD to change His mind concerning the sufficient, perfect work of His Son on your behalf.

The evil one desires to torment you by reminding you of past failures and sins, to turn you inward looking at yourself, condemning you- leaving you with yourself, a feeling of hopelessness, despair. He cannot and will not ever be able to do otherwise, for he is loveless. But the Holy Spirit who has come to glorify, make much of Jesus Christ to you will point to CHRIST- His blood, His sacrifice, His Exaltation and ministry on your behalf. Indeed look away to Jesus. If there was no death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ then a case would be found against you. But there is no case against you from God Himself- “But God being rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us , even when we were dead in our transgressions made us alive together with Christ {by grace you have been saved }, and raised up with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus!-Eph 2:6-7

“For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly…But God demonstrates His own Love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.”-Rom 5:6,8

 God does not, cannot, will not now or ever condemn His own- Why Not? He justified you- {Rom 8:33-34.}. Christ will not condemn you.Why not? He died for you! Consider His  death, resurrection, Exaltation and intercession for you.

• God loves you.
• God is for you.
• God is satisfied with His work on behalf of you!

Since God does not condemn you- then who condemns you? satan? self? others? WHY do you constantly  listen to the lies of condemnation rather than LISTENING TO GOD FROM HIS WORD?  TIME to make a choice whom you are going to listen to. CHOSE TO LISTEN TO THE TRUTH OF SCRIPTURE AND CELEBRATE GOD and SPEAK THE TRUTH TO YOURSELF OF – Why God will not, cannot condemn you!!

Accusations against you? Yes. You will know the pang of the evil one’s accusations but condemn you? NO ONE can, for Christ died for you…was raised for your justification…. Is exalted and it is He who Intercedes for you- now! Meet the accusations with TRUTH, just as the Lord Jesus when tempted did- His response to each temptation – ”IT IS WRITTEN!” “Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? GOD IS THE ONE WHO JUSTIFIES;” Only what God says matters and God is for you! 

APPLICATION;

1. – Memorize Romans 8:34:35. Put on a 3 by 5 card and when you have free moments look at it, memorize it. Ask God to help you rest in it.  THINK on each word, phrase. Be able to speak to yourself the truth when the evil one condemns you. Speak the truth to yourself when you fail.

2. – Share the truth with other believers so as to encourage them of the 4 reasons why God does not condemn them. Good news to be shared!

3. REST IN THE TRUTH – of what God says about you!

4. -PRAISE HIM- Be Deliberate in your praise for the 4 reason why God will never condemn you. Make it part of your prayers and praise. “Lord I praise You that You died for me. I praise You that You were raised for me. I praise You that You are exalted. I praise You that You pray for me. I praise You I cannot be condemn because of your great LOVE for me!”

Be at peace. God is for you! Worship Him!
