The word “Promise” speaks of the declaration of God to ASSURE US of His fulfilling the blessings He has declared for us! He is bound by His honor to do so! So we can have confident expectation in Him to do what He says!
God gives PROMISES to put Himself on display, draw us closer to Him and develop and encourage a deeper dependence upon Him.
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF PROMISES;
Unconditional and Conditional. As you read His Promises below, look and see are there any Conditions He wants you to meet in order for Him to fulfill His PROMISES…Sometimes we have mistakenly thought and even demanded and then been disappointed and doubted God’s care, love and integrity when we say “I prayed and asked Him and He didn’t do it. He said “Ask and He would do it, but He hasn’t’ Have you ever though that way, or heard someone say word’s to that effect?
Maybe get a pen and paper and write down what he promises and then write what is the CONDITION that He requires for the Promise to come into effect!
He gives such Conditional And Unconditional Promises as….
- -“This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.”-{1 John 5:14-15}
2. “Seeing this, the disciples were amazed and asked, “How did the fig tree wither all at once?” And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen. And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” -{Matt 21:20-22}.
3. “Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you. Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions.”-{Mark 11:24-26}
4. ” Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.“-{John 14;13-15}
5. “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. ” -{John 15;7-8}.
6. “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in My Name the Father will give you.”-{John 15;16}
7. “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. “-{John 16:13}.
8. “You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.”- {1 Peter 3:7}
God is not playing “hide and seek,” with you or trying to frustrate or tease you with danging answered to Prayers before you only to refuse to keep His Word. But He wants to answer and shows you How and in some cases the CONDITIONS that need to be met by you for Him to fulfill His Promises. And be assured He wants to meet you and Fulfill His Promises for you
And that’s His PROMISE For You!
