When your faith is under attack, focus on Jesus and Feed your soul on His Word and let His Spirit strengthen you
Consider…
Jesus Is AFFECTIONATE- “I long for you with the AFFECTION of Christ Jesus” – {Phil 1:8};
Jesus is BETTER – ” Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a BETTER covenant. ” – {Heb 7:22}
Jesus Is COMPASSIONATE – ” – When He saw the crowds, He had COMPASSION on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”-{Matt 9:36}
Jesus Is DELIVERER – “Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death He might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil and DELIVER all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.”- {Heb 2:14-15}
Jesus Is ENOUGH -“My Grace Is Sufficient {the word means-ENOUGH} for you”- {12 Cor 12:8-10}
Jesus Is FAITHFUL – “And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called FAITHFUL and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.””-{Rev 192:11-16}
“Let us FIX our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. CONSIDER HIM who endured such hostility from sinners, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT GROW WEARY AND LOSE HEART…”-{Heb 12:2-3}. FOCUS on Him, CONSIDER Him. Not a quick look but a contemplation of Him, Contemplate His Person, HIS Work. Contemplate HIS TRUTH an APPLY His Promises!
FEED YOUR THOUGHTS…WITH JESUS…
JESUS IS AFFECTIONATE- Ask Him to remind you how He has shown His affection to you. Who has He shown His affection to in the Scriptures? Read and Look.. JESUS IS BETTER…The word “BETTER” is used 13 times in Hebrews… Read and underline the word “BETTER” and note What JESUS is BETTER than. How does this APPLY to YOU? JESUS IS COMPASSIONATE. Matthew 9 says He looked and saw the people and made a comparison that they were like sheep, harassed…and He FELT Compassion…We see His heart to the lost. He was not cold hearted, indifferent or callous but He felt compassion and it lead to an action…. what did He tell the disciples to Do…? Jesus DELIVERS. Last night I had a call from a young person regarding the shortness of life and death and what happens afterwards. JESUS DESTROYED the work of the devil and DELIVERS from the fear of death! whatever we face, we will always have Sufficient Grace, ENOUGH GRACE, Enough Favor and Power for whatever we face! Jesus never runs short of His Grace! Jesus is to be the ONE WE are to FIX our eyes upon…Jesus… Looking away from all else is what it means, Look away to Jesus… Jesus is the pioneer of our faith who endured the cross… Jesus arose from the dead, Conqueror… and Jesus sits EXALTED, Sovereign KING…”all power and authority has been given unto Him in Heaven and on earth….”{Matt 28:19-20} He is FAITHFUL AND KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS… in every situation, HE REIGNS and RULES!
SO … let us FIX our eyes upon JESUS, our Faithful High Priest who ever lives to Intercede form the position of ultimate authority, affection, compassion who is better and who loves you dearly….And He alone Is the ONE Who enables us to counteract the temptation to “grow weary and lose heart”
When you find your faith is under attack, FOCUS on JESUS and HIS WORD and His Spirit will feed your faith…
“LOOK AWAY, AND KEEP LOOKING AWAY from all else TO JESUS!”
