“For me to Live is CHRIST”- {Philippians 1:21}

Paul wrote from confinement  the definition of his life, his”statement of faith,” as it were,to the believers in Philippi,“For me, to live is CHRIST.”His whole  life revolved around a Person, not himself but Jesus Christ. It can be seen in the attitudes and motivations for how he lived life. He was Christ intoxicated, Christ captivated and in these various areas we see the overflow, consider…

1. – Paul’s MESSAGE,- Was CHRIST! “we preach not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as LORD, ourselves your servants for Jesus sake.”- {2 Cor 4:5}. His message was Jesus Christ. Paul wrote, “For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.” – {1 Cor 2:2}.

2. – Paul’s AMBITION – was CHRIST! “Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” – {2 Cor 5:8-10}. 3. – Paul’s MASTER PASSION – was CHRIST!  “ that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and ]the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; “- {Phil 3:10}.

4. – Paul’s BOAST – was CHRIST! “But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”- {Gal 6:14}.

5. – Paul’s GOAL in Ministry -was CHRIST!  “We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man ]with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.”- {Col 1:28-29}.

We all have and pursue and proclaim a message,  we have ambitions, a master passion, we boast, are living life primarily for, and goals, how do they align up with Paul? His can be summed up in one word,“CHRIST!” What one word would sum up your pursuit in life? What does your life testify to as your “statement of faith? Fill in the blank,”For me to live is ___” What you primarily think of, pursue, aim towards, consumes you this is your life!If it’s not Christ, it is vanity, eternally useless.
